Job summary

Authentic Staffing Agency is seeking a Connectivity & Data Integration Engineer to join our team. You will conduct comprehensive system testing and commission applications in complex hydro automation landscapes, ensuring seamless integration and reliable performance.

You will configure and optimize applications for on-premise or as-a-service deployments, expand our documentation templates, and provide training to customers.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or related field.
• Minimum of 3 years of experience in software and network system commissioning, configuration, and support.
• Experience integrating digital platforms with industrial control systems, SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs and plant historians.
• Understanding of hydropower plant operational processes and automation architectures.

Responsibilities

• Conduct comprehensive system testing to verify and validate software functionality, performance and reliability.
• Commission standardized and pilot applications into complex industrial automation landscapes in hydro industry, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
• Configure and optimize all applications purchased by the customer, on-premise or as-a-service, tailoring them to meet requirements.
• Expand and update project documentation related templates and contribute to continuous improvement of processes & tools.
• Provide technical training and guidance to customers and colleagues, fostering client satisfaction.
• Develop projects to improve usability of platforms and applications and provide the team with new tools.
• Collaborate with 1st/2nd/3rd level support for back-office assistance and troubleshooting.
• Define platform module and service requirements in consultation with the customer.

Job description

As a Connectivity & Data Integration Engineer, your key responsibilities are to:

• Conduct comprehensive system testing to verify and validate software functionality, performance and reliability.
• Commission standardized, as well as pilot (not yet fully standardized), applications and software systems into complex industrial automation system landscapes in the Hydro industry, ensuring seamless integration and optimal performance.
• Configure and optimize all applications purchased by the customer, either
  on-premise or as-a-service, tailoring them to meet specific requirements and customer standards.
• Expand and keep up to date our project documentation related templates and contribute to continuous improvement of our processes & tools.
• Provide technical training and guidance to customers and colleagues, fostering positive relationships and ensuring long-term client satisfaction.
• Develop projects to improve the usability of platforms and applications, as well as provide our Team with new tools we can use to improve our services.
• Collaborate closely with your peers in the 1st, 2nd and 3rd level support organizations, providing exceptional back-office support and troubleshooting assistance to customers.
• Determine and define requirements for the platform modules and services in advance in consultation with the customer.

Your profile:

• Bachelor's degree in Automation Engineering, Computer Science, or a related field.
• A minimum of 3 years of experience in software and network system commissioning, configuration, and support, preferably in the Hydro industry.
• Experience integrating digital platforms with industrial control systems, SCADA systems, PLCs, RTUs and plant historians.
• Understanding of hydropower plant operational processes and automation architectures
• Strong technical skills, including proficiency in industrial automation systems and software applications as well as industrial network protocols.
• Strong understanding IP Network design and deployment, Network Security - VPN, Firewall, Secure Connectivity and Troubleshooting
• Cloud Terminology - VPC, Network ACL, Security Group, Transit gateway, Internet Gateway, Direct Connect etc.
• Understanding of IT/OT Concepts - Manufacturing Network Setup and Manufacturing Firewall.
• Advance knowledge on Microsoft Server Operating System i.e. DHCP, DNS with exposure to Linux platform.
• Excellent problem-solving abilities and a keen eye for detail.
• Exceptional communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to explain complex technical concepts to a diverse audience.
• Self-motivated and proactive, with the ability to work independently or as part of a team.
• Willingness to travel as needed for commissioning projects and customer support.
• Able to work in network structures and cross-functional, multi-cultural teams.
