Job summary

Live Connections is seeking an Industrial Automation Engineer to lead PLC/ HMI/ SCADA programming, testing and commissioning across water and wastewater, HVAC, oil & gas sectors. The role requires hands-on experience, independence, and a focus on delivering robust automation solutions.

You will design and test control logic, develop SCADA/HMI graphics, perform field testing and commissioning, and prepare technical documentation.

Qualifications

• Diploma in engineering with instrumentation/electronics or industrial automation.
• Minimum 5+ years hands-on Rockwell system experience.
• Process industry experience preferred (Water/Wastewater, HVAC, Oil & Gas).
• Strong knowledge of PLC, HMI, SCADA and networking.
• Knowledge of Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP.
• Excellent communication and documentation skills.

Overview:

We are looking for Industrial automation engineer who can do PLC/ HMI/ SCADA Programming, Testing & Commissioning in Water and Wastewater, HVAC, Oil & Gas as well as various other industries. Has experience in the field and works independently on the tasks. Focus is on learning the internal process and combining technical knowledge with customer service skills to effectively manage activities for a department or division. Duties & Responsibilities

• PLC Program and execute test plans to ensure the reliability and functionality of automation systems.
• SCADA/ HMI Graphics development
• Design and implement automation solutions tailored to client needs
• Pre-commissioning activities such as verify the cable termination and Loop checking, others.
• Field Site Testing & Commissioning
• Participate in the SAT of automation systems at client sites
• Prepare and maintain project documentation, including functional specifications, I/O lists, and system architecture diagrams.
• Ensure proper software version, programming tools and backups of programs.
• Provide technical assistance and troubleshooting for automation systems.
• Understand specific needs or requirements of the task and apply skills or knowledge on the job.
• Responsible for processing of medium to high complexity tasks as per the defined standards.
• Documents procedures, root cause analysis and recommendations for all tasks performed.
• Work closely with sales and project teams to understand client requirements and develop appropriate solutions
• Must have Resilience and persistence to work on challenging assignments.
• Very good interpersonal, consulting, and technical presentation skills.
• Strong attention to detail and a high level of organisational skills.

Education & Certification:

• Technical School Graduation / Diploma in engineering (Instrumentation / Electronics / Industrial automation or related field).

Skills & Competencies:

• Good communication (Verbal & Written) & interpersonal skills.
• Well versed in MS Office and Internet.
• Ability to read and interpret documents such as P&ID, C&E, FDS, Project specification, QCS specification, ILD, MST, System architecture, Operating and maintenance manuals.
• Technical expertise in PLC, HMI, SCADA, Historian system, Network components (Switches, FOC)
• Technical knowledge, expertise, and capabilities to read and understand Structural text program, VB scripting and SQL.

Experience:

• Minimum 5+ years of hands-on experience in Rockwell system (Micro 850, Control Logix, Compact Logix, Studio 5000, Factory Talk view SE, etc.), with a strong preference for candidates from the Process industry (Water and Wastewater, HVAC, Oil & GAS).
• Strong software coding skills with Ladder logic, Functional block drawing and Structural Text is preferred
• Strong understanding of industrial protocols such as Modbus, Profibus, Profinet, and Ethernet/IP
• Knowledge of Data Logging on Historian server or SQL server
• Knowledge of PLC Redundancy configuration
• Knowledge of SCADA Server and client configuration
• Knowledge of Report generation from Historian server
• Experience in the Process Industry is a must.

Experience:

• 5 - 10 years of work experience in the related job function in a Project engineer role promoting Automation Solution and services.
• Previous experience as a Application Engineer or Testing & Commissioning engineer is a plus.
