Qualifications

• Hands-on PLC hardware selection, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Experience with SCADA hardware and software, and third-party integration.
• Strong grasp of PROFIBUS, PROFINET, MODBUS, CANbus, TCP/IP.
• Know-how of industrial Ethernet and networks; networking troubleshooting mandatory.
• Ability to test and validate communication between devices.

Responsibilities

• Work on PLC & automation systems design, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Develop and modify PLC software; perform add-ons and projects.
• Configure, test, and integrate SCADA systems and third-party communications.
• Configure and test industrial network architectures, IP addressing, and switches.
• Coordinate integration of pumps, VFDs, MCCs, and field devices.
• Troubleshoot field devices and diagnose system faults.

Key Responsibilities:

1. PLC & Automation Systems

Hands-on knowledge of PLC platforms such as:

• Siemens
• Rockwell / Allen-Bradley
• ABB
• Delta
• Mitsubishi

Responsibilities include:

• PLC hardware selection, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• PLC software/application development and modification.
• Understanding and executing PLC add-on / modification projects.
• PLC diagnostics and fault analysis.
• Troubleshooting PLC hardware, software, I/O, and communication-related issues.
• Following a structured and logical approach for identifying and resolving system faults.

2. SCADA Systems

Experience with SCADA platforms such as:

• Siemens
• Rockwell
• ABB
• Mitsubishi

Responsibilities include:

• Understanding PC-based machine and SCADA hardware.
• SCADA software installation and configuration.
• Configuration and testing of third-party communication.
• SCADA system integration and testing.
• Execution of SCADA modification / add-on projects.
• SCADA fault finding, diagnostics, and troubleshooting.
• Supporting communication between PLC, SCADA, and third-party systems.

3. Industrial Communication Protocols

Strong understanding of industrial communication protocols, including:

• PROFIBUS
• PROFINET
• MODBUS
• CANbus
• TCP/IP

The candidate should be capable of:

• Configuring communication between two or more devices.
• Testing and validating communication.
• Identifying communication failures.
• Performing protocol-level troubleshooting.
• Diagnosing device, addressing, port, and communication-related issues.

4. Industrial System Networking

• Strong understanding of industrial Ethernet and automation system networking.
• Ability to understand the existing system/network architecture within the first month.
• Networking troubleshooting knowledge is mandatory.
• Understanding of IP addressing, ports, switches, and device connectivity.
• Port configuration and analysis.
• Network fault identification and troubleshooting.
• Experience supporting network-related modification / add-on projects.

5. Pumps, Motors, VFDs & MCC

Good working knowledge of:

• Pumps and motor operation.
• VFD functionality, configuration, and troubleshooting.
• Motor control and protection.
• MCC panel controls.
• Start/stop logic and interlocks.
• Integration of motors, VFDs, MCCs, PLCs, and field devices.
• Troubleshooting equipment-level control issues.

6. Field Devices

• Understanding of industrial field devices and their operation.
• Knowledge of device integration with PLC/SCADA systems.
• Understanding of signals, I/O, device status, alarms, and interlocks.
• Ability to troubleshoot field-device-related system issues.

Process Technical Skills

The candidate is expected to develop a strong understanding of the assigned process and system within the initial period.
