Job summary

Siemens Energy India Limited is seeking a Component Engineer- Control Design of Power Transformer to contribute as an individual in preparing control and protection schematics for transformers, including cooling systems. The role demands strong knowledge of control logics, wiring, and panel design, with familiarity in E-plan/AutoCAD and transformer protection.

The candidate will collaborate with global teams, support vendors and shop floor engineers, and ensure compliance with IS/IEC/IEEE

Qualifications

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering.
• 5-6 years (Degree) or 8-9 years (Diploma) in Control Engineering.
• Proficiency in control logics, auxiliary wiring, panel design.
• Knowledge in E-plan & AutoCAD is necessary.
• Possess basic transformer knowledge and its protection circuits.
• Familiar with communication protocols and user interfaces.

Responsibilities

• Prepare & check control circuit drawings for cooling systems like ONAN/ONAF/OFAF/ODAF.
• Prepare & check drawings for Indoor Remote Tap changer control cubicles.
• Explain wiring logics to end users during approvals and reviews.
• Understand monitoring systems (bushing, thermal, PD) and sensors.
• Prepare operating instructions for control systems and support vendors.

The Component Engineer- Control Design of Power Transformer is for an individual contributor, responsible for preparing Control & protection schematics for Power transformers.

How You'll Make an Impact

• Prepare & check control circuit drawings for different type cooling systems (e.g. ONAN / ONAF / OFAF / ODAF) with fans, pumps for outdoor Marshalling Kiosk, Cooler control cubicles
• Prepare & check control circuit drawings for Indoor Remote Tap changer control cubicles.
• Familiar with On-load or Off-circuit Tap changer control circuits.
• Able to explain wiring logics to end utilities and consultants during approval and design review process.
• Understand various monitoring systems (like Bushing monitoring, Thermal monitoring devices, PD monitoring changers etc.) and associated sensors.
• Prepare operating instructions of Control systems.
• Support vendor and shop floor engineers during execution.

What You Bring

• Degree or Diploma in Electrical & Electronics Engineering
• At least 5-6 years (in case of Degree) or 8-9 years (in case of Diploma) in Control Engineering.
• Proficiency in Control logics, auxiliary wiring, panel design.
• Knowledge in E-plan & AutoCAD is necessary.
• Possess basic transformer knowledge and its protection circuits.
• Familiar with communication protocols and user interfaces
• Possess good communication, interpersonal skills, problem solving attitude & willing to work in interdisciplinary team.
• Able to co-operate and learn from Global factories counterparts relating to Controls schemes.
• Good experience of working with Global Engineering teams in project execution
• Effective co-ordination with manufacturing, suppliers, and customer
• Experience with SAP is an added advantage.
• Familiar with national and international standards like IS, IEC, ANSI. Understanding of UL certification and NEMA standards will be a added advantage.
• Experience in dealing with export customers especially in European OR American market will get additional advantage.

We provide EPC for high and extra high voltage projects pertinent to AIS/GIS, Flexible Alternating Current Transmission System (FACTS) devices and High Voltage Direct Current Voltage Source Converter (HVDC VSC) technology. Further, we off er an extensive range of services for the complete lifecycle of the High Voltage /Extra High Voltage asset and projects including bay extension, substation modernisation, product retrofitting and overhauling, emergency services, breakdown services, Long Term Service Agreements (LTSAs), maintenance contracts, O&M contracts and spares.
