Job summary

Medhavi Foundation, sponsor of Medhavi Skills University, seeks a Community Mobiliser to engage with communities across health, education and development projects. You will build trust, raise awareness, and help communities take action through campaigns, meetings, and capacity-building activities.

Key duties include stakeholder engagement, needs assessment, project support, monitoring, advocacy, and inclusive participation.

Responsibilities

  • Build positive relationships with community members and leaders.
  • Encourage active participation in community programs and activities.
  • Promote teamwork and community ownership of projects.
  • Conduct awareness campaigns on health, education, sanitation, gender equality, and environmental conservation.
  • Organize meetings, workshops, and community dialogues.
  • Provide accurate information and answer community questions.
  • Identify community needs, challenges, and priorities through surveys and discussions.
  • Report findings to project managers or partner organizations.
  • Recruit volunteers and support the formation of community groups.
  • Motivate community members to participate in project planning and implementation.
  • Assist in implementing community development projects.
  • Coordinate activities with local leaders, government agencies, and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure project activities follow plans.
  • Monitor the progress of community activities.
  • Keep records of meetings, attendance, and project outcomes.
  • Prepare regular reports on activities, achievements, and challenges.
  • Represent community concerns to authorities and promote rights of vulnerable groups.
  • Encourage inclusive participation of women, youth, and marginalized populations.
  • Help resolve misunderstandings or conflicts; promote peaceful dialogue.
  • Train community members and volunteers; build leadership skills.
  • Support sustainability of community initiatives.

Medhavi Foundation is an education and skill development organization, founded in 2012 by IIT alumni, with a vision to bridge the gap between the demand and supply of skilled manpower across various vocational streams. Medhavi is driven by a commitment to develop India’s vocational talent

pool through a unique combination of best-in-class learning technologies, expert trainers across disciplines, and a nationwide network of high-quality model skill training centres.Medhavi Foundation is the sponsoring body of Medhavi Skills University, Sikkim. It is registered as a

not-for-profit organization under Section 25 of the Indian Companies Act, 1956. To achieve its mission, Medhavi Foundation has partnered with the National Skill Development Corporation,multiple corporates, and various State Skill Missions. By 2025, it has successfully skilled, trained, and

created employment opportunities for over 5 lakh youth across India.

A community mobiliser will work with community members to encourage participation in development, health, education, environmental, or social programs. Their main role is to build trust,raise awareness, and help communities take action to solve local issues.

Key Responsibilities:
Community Engagement

Needs Assessment

Project Support
  • Assist in implementing community development projects.

Monitoring and Reporting
  • Monitor the progress of community activities.
  • Keep records of meetings, attendance, and project outcomes.
  • Prepare regular reports on activities, achievements, and challenges.
Advocacy
  • Represent community concerns to relevant authorities and organizations.
  • Promote the rights and interests of vulnerable groups.
  • Encourage inclusive participation of women, youth, persons with disabilities, and marginalized populations.
  • Help resolve misunderstandings or conflicts within the community.
  • Promote peaceful dialogue and cooperation among stakeholders.
Capacity Building
  • Train community members and local volunteers.
  • Strengthen leadership and organizational skills within the community.
  • Support the sustainability of community initiatives.
