Job summary

Impresario Entertainment & Hospitality Pvt. Ltd. in Mumbai is seeking a Commis 3 to join the Kitchen / Culinary team. This entry-level role focuses on learning basic food preparation and supporting the section during prep and service.

You will work under senior chefs, develop knife skills, and gain exposure to Indian, Continental, and Chinese cuisines. Freshers welcome; shift work required in a fast-paced environment.

Qualifications

• Diploma or certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred, not mandatory with relevant kitchen experience.
• Basic knife skills and kitchen hygiene knowledge required.
• Willingness to learn and work under pressure in a fast-paced kitchen environment.

Responsibilities

• Carry out basic mise en place: washing, peeling, cutting, chopping and portioning as instructed.
• Assist the section chefs during service and follow recipes and portion standards.
• Keep your workstation clean, organised and sanitised at all times.
• Receive, store and label ingredients correctly, following FIFO and date-labelling.
• Follow food safety and hygiene (HACCP) standards, including correct temperature and storage practices.
• Handle kitchen equipment safely and report any damage or faults.
• Help with cleaning of the kitchen, equipment and storage areas during and after service.
• Reduce wastage by using ingredients carefully.
• Follow instructions from seniors and learn the sections recipes and techniques.
• Support other sections when the kitchen is busy.

Role Summary

The Commis 3 is an entry-level kitchen position. You will learn the basics of food preparation and kitchen operations under senior chefs, supporting the section during prep and service while building the skills to grow into Commis 2.

Key Responsibilities

• Carry out basic mise en place: washing, peeling, cutting, chopping and portioning as instructed
• Assist the section chefs during service and follow recipes and portion standards

Requirements

• Education: Diploma or certificate in Hotel Management or Culinary Arts preferred (not mandatory for candidates with relevant kitchen experience)
• Experience: 0 to 1 year in a restaurant, caf, QSR or hotel kitchen. Freshers and trainees are welcome.
• Basic knowledge of knife skills and kitchen hygiene
