Job summary

Iris Software Inc. is seeking a senior cloud architect to design and govern enterprise-grade cloud architectures across Azure and GCP.

You will define AI-enabled data platform capabilities, lead architecture reviews, and partner with security, data, and application teams to ensure secure, scalable deployments. With 12+ years in the field and the TOGAF or Azure Solutions Architect certification, you will shape roadmaps, drive IaC with Terraform, and mentor global teams while delivering

Qualifications

• 12+ years of overall industry experience, incl. 5+ years designing and operating cloud architectures.
• TOGAF Certification or Azure Solutions Architect Expert required.
• Cloud experience on Azure and/or Google Cloud Platform at enterprise scale.
• Infrastructure as Code with Terraform is required.
• Security, identity and networking knowledge across cloud environments.
• Strong communication and collaboration across globally distributed teams.

Responsibilities

Job Description

Key Responsibilities

• Translate business strategy and priorities into target-state solution architectures and roadmaps.
• Ensure application, data, security and cloud/infrastructure designs are coherent across a program or portfolio.
• Chair architecture reviews; own key design decisions and standards exceptions.
• Act as the primary architecture contract for business sponsors and portfolio leadership.
• Partner with Enterprise, Application, Data and Security Architects to keep delivery aligned to the approved design.
• Design for high availability, disaster recovery and resiliency, and take part in DR planning and testing.
• Embed security by design: identity and access management, network segmentation, encryption, secrets management and Zero Trust principles.
• Design and validate platform capabilities for AI and data workloads.
• Guide the integration of Generative AI into new and existing systems, including RAG patterns, vector databases and LLM integration.
• Establish governance for data privacy, responsible AI and prompt/data protection.
• Define CI/CD and release strategy using Azure DevOps and GitHub Actions, with security gates and environment promotion.
• Define monitoring, observability and alerting standards for the cloud platform.
• Lead proofs of concept (POC/Pilots) and pre-production readiness for new platform services and features.

Requirements

• 12+ years of overall industry experience, including 5+ years of designing and operating cloud architecture.
• Certification: TOGAF Certification or Azure Solutions Architect Expert (required).
• Cloud architecture: Proven experience designing and operating secure architectures on Azure and/or GCP at enterprise scale, applying the Cloud Adoption Framework (CAF) and Well-Architected Framework (WAF).
• Infrastructure as Code: Terraform (required); ARM/Bicep or equivalent.
• Security & identity: IAM, OAuth2 / OpenID Connect / SAML, Microsoft Entra ID.
• Networking: DNS, DHCP, routing, VNet/VPC design, firewalls and hybrid connectivity (VPN / ExpressRoute / Interconnect).
• Containers & DevOps: Docker and Kubernetes (AKS and/or GKE), CI/CD with Azure DevOps and/or GitHub Actions, Git and release automation.
• AI/GenAI awareness: Conceptual and hands‑on understanding of GenAI patterns: RAG, vector databases and LLM integration.
• Solid understanding of compute, storage and data services in public cloud; scripting in Python and/or PowerShell for automation.
• Demonstrated experience running production workloads with high availability, security and cost optimization (FinOps) at scale.
• Strong documentation and communication skills; experience working in globally distributed teams and with multiple vendors.
• Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science, Engineering or a related field (or equivalent experience); Master’s degree preferred.
