Job summary

Capla GmbH is seeking a Clinical Support Engineer to support neurosurgical robots and neuronavigation systems in live clinical environments across India. You will work with neurosurgeons, OT staff, biomedical engineers, and Capla's R&D teams to install, calibrate, train, and provide intraoperative support, ensuring safe adoption of Capla's navigation technologies.

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's degree in Biomedical Engineering, Life Sciences, Electronics, or a related field.
  • 2–3 years of experience supporting neurosurgical or neuronavigation products.
  • Willingness to travel extensively across India and internationally.
  • Strong understanding of neurosurgical workflows and OR protocols.
  • Hands-on experience with surgical robotics in spine or orthopaedic procedures is a strong advantage.

Responsibilities

  • Provide real-time intraoperative support for neurosurgical and neuronavigation procedures.
  • Assist surgeons during cranial and spine navigation workflows.
  • Ensure correct system setup, calibration, and validation before procedures.
  • Troubleshoot and resolve technical issues during surgeries with minimal disruption.
  • Install, configure, and commission neuronavigation systems at hospital sites.
  • Perform system acceptance testing and clinical readiness checks.
  • Coordinate with hospital biomedical and IT teams for successful deployment.
  • Train surgeons, OT nurses, and technical staff on system operation and workflows.
  • Develop training materials and contribute to clinical documentation.
  • Act as a clinical interface between hospitals and Capla's R&D teams.
  • Collect structured feedback from users to support product improvement.
  • Support clinical evaluations, trials, and conferences.

As a Clinical Support Engineer, you will be responsible for supporting Capla's neurosurgical robots and neuronavigation systems in live clinical environments. This role is critical in ensuring safe, effective, and confident adoption of Capla's advanced navigation technologies by surgeons and hospital teams.


You will work closely with neurosurgeons, OT staff, biomedical engineers, and Capla's R&D teams to deliver seamless system installations, intraoperative support, training, and feedback-driven improvements. This role demands strong clinical understanding, technical aptitude, and the ability to perform under high-pressure surgical environments.


Responsibilities

Clinical & Surgical Support


  • Provide real-time intraoperative support for neurosurgical and neuronavigation procedures

  • Assist surgeons during cranial and spine navigation workflows

Qualifications

Preferred


  • Experience with cranial or spine navigation systems

  • Hands-on experience with surgical robotics in spine or orthopaedic procedures (e.g., robotic-assisted spine surgery platforms) is a strong advantage

  • Exposure to advanced imaging platforms (O-arm, C-arm, intraoperative CT/MRI)

  • Strong communication and presentation skills

  • High learning aptitude and comfort working in a fast-paced startup environment
