Job Description

A Clinical Associate - Paediatrics supports the clinical team in providing medical care to infants, children, and adolescents under appropriate supervision. The involves taking patient histories, performing clinical assessments, monitoring vital signs, assisting with investigations and treatment planning, supporting emergency care, maintaining clinical documentation, and coordinating with paediatricians, nurses, and other healthcare professionals.

  • Assist in assessing paediatric patients under the direction of a qualified clinician.
  • Obtain relevant medical history and document presenting complaints.
  • Perform clinical examinations appropriate to training and scope.
  • Monitor vital signs and observe changes in the childs clinical condition.
  • Assist paediatricians in developing and implementing care plans.
  • Review relevant laboratory and diagnostic reports under supervision.
  • Assist with routine clinical procedures within competency.
  • Support assessment and management of common paediatric conditions.
  • Assist in the evaluation of patients in outpatient and inpatient settings.
  • Support emergency assessment and stabilization of paediatric patients.
  • Monitor response to treatment and report significant changes promptly.
  • Maintain accurate patient records, progress notes, and clinical documentation.
  • Assist with admission, transfer, discharge, and referral processes.
  • Communicate appropriately with parents or caregivers regarding care instructions under supervision.
  • Coordinate with nursing, laboratory, radiology, pharmacy, and other clinical teams.
  • Follow paediatric infection prevention and patient safety protocols.
  • Participate in clinical rounds, case discussions, and training activities.
  • Maintain patient confidentiality and professional standards.
