Job summary

UST is seeking an experienced CICS System Programmer with deep hands-on expertise in CICS on IBM z/OS. The role emphasizes configuration, installation, maintenance, and performance tuning rather than operations or monitoring.

You will install and upgrade CICS TS, manage CICSPlex SM environments, and optimize resources with RDO, CSD, and SMP/E while collaborating with z/OS, application, and middleware teams to ensure on-call readiness and reliable, compliant CICS environments.

Qualifications

• Hands-on experience in CICS System Programming on z/OS.
• In-depth IBM z/OS knowledge and CICSPlex SM expertise.
• Experience with RDO / CSD / DFHCSDUP and SMP/E maintenance.
• Strong problem-solving and troubleshooting skills.

Responsibilities

• Install, configure, and upgrade IBM CICS Transaction Server on z/OS.
• Set up CICS regions and manage AOR/FOR/TOR configurations.
• Define and manage CICS resources using RDO / CSD / DFHCSDUP.
• Administer CICSPlex SM environments.
• Handle SMP/E maintenance, PTFs, and version upgrades.
• Perform performance tuning and capacity planning for CICS regions.
• Diagnose abends, dumps, and system-level performance issues.
• Collaborate with z/OS system programmers, application teams, and middleware teams.
• Ensure high availability, stability, and compliance of CICS environments.
• Participate in on-call support for critical CICS incidents.

Job description

We are looking for an experienced CICS System Programmer with strong hands‑on expertise in CICS system programming on IBM z/OS environments. The role requires deep technical knowledge of CICS internals, configuration, installation, maintenance, and performance tuning. This is not an operations or monitoring role.

Key Responsibilities

• Install, configure, customize, and upgrade IBM CICS Transaction Server on z/OS
• Perform CICS region setup and management, including AOR/FOR/TOR configurations
• Define and manage CICS resources using RDO / CSD / DFHCSDUP
• Administer and support CICSPlex SM environments
• Handle CICS-related SMP/E maintenance, PTFs, and version upgrades
• Perform performance tuning and capacity planning for CICS regions
• Diagnose and resolve CICS system‑level issues, abends, dumps, and performance problems
• Work closely with z/OS system programmers, application teams, and middleware teams
• Ensure high availability, stability, and compliance of CICS environments
• Participate in on‑call support for critical CICS incidents
