Job summary

Experian is hiring a CICS Systems Programmer to install and maintain IBM CICS/TS software and related tools. The role involves upgrading CICS/TS versions, managing definitions (RDO, BAS, files), and conducting performance tuning and capacity planning to ensure reliable operations.

The candidate will monitor CICS system performance, configure CICSPELX Groups in SYSPLEX, work with RACF, and assist with troubleshooting and dump analysis. On-call support is part of the duties.

Job Description

CICS Systems Programmer

• Install/maintain IBM CICS/TS software and associated tools
• Experience with CICS/TS version migration/upgrade
• Responsible for maintaining CICS definitions, including RDO, BAS, Files, etc
• Responsible for tuning of CICS and capacity planning of CICS resources
• Responsible for monitoring and reporting on CICS system performance
• Knowledge of configuring CICSPELX Groups and HA configurations in a SYSPLEX environment
• Experience with RACF
• Experience with CICS troubleshooting issues and dump analysis
• Experience of / exposure to programming languages, including Assembler, COBOL, REXX, SAS, etc
• Document/maintain software inventory of CICS tools and their installation procedures
• Evaluate and research new CICS functionality to exploit new features
• Monitor and apprise management on EOS of existing tools and take proactive action
• Oncall support
