Job summary

Novotel Mumbai Juhu Beach, part of Accor, seeks a skilled Maintenance Engineer to oversee the hotel’s facilities and equipment in Mumbai. You will manage budgets, schedules, and contractor activities while ensuring top-level service and safety standards.

Responsibilities include leading a team, maintaining records, and coordinating with suppliers to ensure reliable operations and compliance with health, safety, and crisis procedures.

• Responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment.
• Manage maintenance budget and stock levels to stay within budget guidelines.
• Be fully aware of health and safety procedures and assist with risk assessments.
• Ensure effective preventive maintenance (PPM) schedules are in place.
• Manage onsite activity of all contractors.
• Order maintenance supplies and implement stock controls.
• Maintain records of machinery, equipment, and manufacturer details.
• Ensure fire safety equipment is maintained and tested timely.
• Coordinate supplier quotations for maintenance work.
• Lead and manage a high-energy team, set goals, and develop staff.
• Identify opportunities to improve processes and procedures.
• Be a member of hotel crisis and fire teams and know related procedures.
• Project-manage changes in policies and procedures.
• Deliver high levels of customer service to guests and internal customers.
• Forge long-term relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Cover shift engineer shifts as required.

Job Description

What you’ll do…

• Responsible for the overall maintenance of the hotel’s facilities and equipment.
• Ensure that the maintenance budget and stock levels are controlled, ensuring that all expenses are kept in line with budget guidelines.
• To be fully aware, and competent in, all health and safety procedures, policies and assist with preparing all risk assessments.
• Ensure that there is an effective PPM schedules in place.
• Manage the onsite activity of all contractors.
• Order all maintenance supplies and ensure stock controls are in place.
• Maintain records of all machinery and equipment including manufacturers details, specifications, and manuals.
• Ensure that all fire safety equipment is maintained and tested in a timely manner.
• Arrange and co-ordinate quotations from suppliers in relation to maintenance work.
• Lead and manage a team of high-energy people who love our guests, by setting and monitoring goals, empowering and developing them, and creating an environment where people can be themselves.
• Pro-actively identify opportunities to improve and enhance processes and procedures.
• To be a member of the hotel crisis and fire teams, and to be fully conversant in all related procedures.
• Pro-actively project manage any changes in policies and procedures.
• Achieve and maintain the highest possible levels of customer service to both external and internal customers, forging long-term relationships with suppliers and contractors.
• Cover shift engineer shifts as required.
