Job summary

Khatib & Alami in Bengaluru is seeking a Lead CFD Engineer to deliver advanced CFD solutions across HVAC, tunnel ventilation, water systems and infrastructure projects. You will lead and mentor a team, coordinating with architects, structural engineers and MEP professionals to ensure high-quality results.

The ideal candidate has 10–15 years of CFD experience in building services and related sectors, with proficiency in ANSYS SpaceClaim, CFX/Fluent, OpenFOAM, PyroSim, Pathfinder and SimScale.

Qualifications

• 10–15 years of proven CFD experience across building, energy, water, and infrastructure sectors.
• Building services experience is mandatory.
• Experience on Middle East projects is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fluid flow, heat transfer, fire dynamics, turbulence, and multiphase flows.

Responsibilities

• Lead CFD analysis projects for building services (HVAC, smoke control, thermal comfort, etc.).
• Mentor junior CFD engineers and ensure timely delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers and MEP teams to integrate CFD insights into design solutions.
• Develop and validate CFD models using industry-standard tools (ANSYS SpaceClaim, CFX/Fluent, CFD-Post, OpenFOAM, PyroSim, FDS & Pathfinder).

Job Summary:

As a Lead CFD Engineer will be responsible for delivering advanced Computational Fluid Dynamics (CFD) solutions across HVAC, tunnel ventilation, fire life safety, water systems, and infrastructure projects. This role requires strong technical expertise, leadership skills, and the ability to guide teams while ensuring compliance with international standards and client expectations.

Qualifications & Skills

• Masters / Bachelor’s Degree in Mechanical Engineering.
• 10 - 15 years of proven CFD experience across building, energy, water, and infrastructure sectors.
• Building services experience is Mandatory.
• Middle East Project Experience is highly preferred.
• Strong knowledge of fluid flow, heat transfer, fire dynamics, turbulence, and multiphase flows.
• Proficiency in CFD tools: ANSYS (SpaceClaim, Fluent/CFX, CFD Post), OpenFOAM, PyroSim (FDS), Pathfinder, SimScale.
• Excellent reporting, leadership, people & project management skills.
• Fire Life Safety experience in building projects will be considered an added advantage.

Key Responsibilities:

Leadership & Project Management

• Lead CFD analysis projects for building services (HVAC, smoke control, thermal comfort, etc.).
• Manage and mentor junior CFD engineers, ensuring technical excellence and timely delivery.
• Coordinate with architects, structural engineers, and MEP teams to integrate CFD insights into design solutions. Mentor and supervise junior engineers, ensuring quality and timely delivery of projects.

Technical Expertise

• Perform advanced CFD simulations for airflow, heat transfer, and contaminant dispersion in complex building environments. (thermal comfort (indoor/outdoor), external flow analysis for chillers and cooling towers, and thermal performance of data canters).
• Emergency ventilation system design for car parks, atriums, and corridors using CFD for fire and smoke modeling.
• Evacuation Modeling for Fire/emergency scenarios, Crowd and event mode scenarios.
• Hydraulic behaviour and residence time analysis for water systems, storage tanks, reservoirs and pumping stations.

Develop and validate CFD models using industry-standard tools (ANSYS Spaceclaim, CFX/Fluent, CFD-Post, OpenFOAM, Pyrosim, FDS & Pathfinder).
