Job summary

Idexcel is seeking a CAD Engineer for its Digital Manufacturing Service (DMS) in Vadodara (preferred) or Chennai. The role requires 5–8 years of CAD experience with strong modelling and drafting skills using SolidWorks. Immediate joiners only.

The candidate will handle NPI activities, develop MOM for new products, coordinate with cross-functional teams, and ensure compliance with quality standards and timelines. BE in Mechanical/Manufacturing Engineering is required.

Qualifications

• 5+ years of experience in CAD engineering, preferably in manufacturing.
• Experience in NPI and product design-to-manufacturing handoff.
• Knowledge of DFM/ DFA and tooling considerations.
• Experience with CNC, tooling, fixtures is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Manage daily NPI activities to ensure manufacturability and quality.

Essential Requirements

New Product Introduction (NPI):

• Manage daily NPI related activities, ensuring that all products are manufacturable and meet quality standards.
• Develop and optimize method of manufacturing (MOM) for new products, ensuring efficiency, scalability, and adherence to timelines.
• Collaborate with cross-function team to ensure smooth handoff of projects from design to manufacturing.
• Identify and mitigate risks in new product development and production processes.
• Communicate with customer for any technical or documentation issues

Tooling & Equipment:

• Design or procure new tooling, fixtures, Mold and equipment required for new product manufacturing.
• Collaborate with the machine shop team to ensure equipment is maintained and optimized for high-volume production.
• Strong hand on SolidWorks

Project Management:

• Create and manage project timelines for NPI projects, ensuring all deliverables are met on time.
• Ensure all NPI projects comply with company and industry standards and regulations.

Preferred Experience:

• Minimum of 5 years of experience as an NPI Engineer, preferably in a manufacturing environment.
• Hands-on experience with knowledge of CNC machining, tooling, and fixtures.
• Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control.
• Experience with Design for Manufacturing (DFM) and Design for Assembly (DFA).
• Knowledgeable with plastic welding and thermoforming
• Familiarity with any ERP or SAP systems (Epicor)
