Job summary

RGBSI is seeking a mechanical design engineer in Pune to develop 3D models and 2D drawings using Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks. You will manage product data with PDM tools, perform analyses, and coordinate ECOs/ECNs with cross-functional teams to ensure manufacturability.

The role requires 4–6 years of hands-on experience in sheet metal, fabrication, casting, machining, and welded structures, plus strong GD&T knowledge and standard part selection.

Qualifications

• 4-6 yrs of experience in mechanical design
• Proficient in Autodesk Inventor and SolidWorks
• Experience with any PDM system (SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter, Windchill)
• Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes
• Experience in selecting standard parts like motors, bearings, seals, valves
• Experience applying DFX & DFMEA
• Experience in material selection, heat treatment and coating technologies
• Hands-on experience in sheet metal design, fabrication, welded structures, machined components, casting design
• Knowledge of Welding symbols, GD&T and ISO/ASME standards
• Engineering calculations for stress, tolerance, fits

Responsibilities

• Prepare and maintain BOMs, design documentation, and technical reports

Mandatory Skills

1. Strong proficiency in Autodesk Inventor & SolidWorks (Part modelling, sheet metal, Assemblies, Drawings).
2. Experience working with any PDM system (SolidWorks PDM, Teamcenter, Windchill, etc.).
3. Solid understanding of engineering fundamentals, materials, and manufacturing processes.
4. Experience in selecting standard parts like Motors, bearings, seals, valves etc.
