Job summary

OMS Infra Consultants is seeking a CAD Engineer – Highways & Bridges to develop, maintain, and deliver accurate drawings for highway and bridge projects in Hyderabad, coordinating with project teams from concept through construction.

You will translate survey data and design concepts into detailed 2D/3D drawings, including plan, profile, cross-section, and bridge detailing, while ensuring compliance with IRC, MoRTH, IS codes, and client standards.

Qualifications

• Diploma or Bachelor's degree in Civil Engineering.
• Minimum 8 years in highway/bridge design and drafting.

Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings for highways, roads, bridges, interchanges, and associated infrastructure.
• Develop highway plan, profile, alignment, cross-section, and detailed layout drawings.
• Prepare drawings for road alignment/geometry, cross-sections, earthwork, drainage, intersections, road furniture, pavement layouts, retaining walls, and bridge components.

Job Summary

We are looking for a skilled CAD Engineer – Highways & Bridges to prepare, develop, and maintain accurate engineering drawings and design documentation for highway, bridge, and transportation infrastructure projects.

The candidate will work closely with Civil/Highway/Structural Engineers and project teams to convert engineering designs, survey data, and technical specifications into detailed construction drawings and deliverables.

Key Responsibilities

• Prepare detailed 2D/3D CAD drawings for highways, roads, bridges, interchanges, and associated infrastructure.
• Develop highway plan, profile, alignment, cross-section, and detailed layout drawings.
• Prepare drawings for:
  • Road alignment and geometry
  • Horizontal and vertical profiles
  • Typical cross-sections
  • Earthwork and grading
  • Drainage and culverts
  • Intersections and junctions
  • Road furniture and traffic signs
  • Pavement layouts
  • Retaining walls and slope protection
  • Bridge general arrangement drawings
  • Bridge components and structural details
• Prepare and update as-built drawings based on site information and approved revisions.
• Incorporate design changes and comments from engineers, clients, and consultants.
• Coordinate CAD drawings with survey, geotechnical, structural, drainage, utilities, and other disciplines.
• Ensure drawings comply with applicable IRC, MoRTH, IS Codes, project specifications, and client standards, as applicable.
• Maintain drawing standards, layers, blocks, templates, title blocks, and CAD libraries.
• Perform drawing checks for dimensions, levels, coordinates, annotations, scales, and consistency.
• Assist engineers in extracting quantities and preparing schedules from drawings.
• Maintain proper drawing revision control and document management.
• Prepare drawings for tender, design review, construction, and as-built stages.
• Coordinate with site teams to resolve drawing-related issues during construction.
• Ensure timely submission of drawings according to project schedules.

Required Technical Skills

• Strong proficiency in AutoCAD.
• Good understanding of highway and bridge engineering drawings.
• Ability to read and interpret civil/structural engineering drawings.
• Knowledge of highway alignment, profiles, cross-sections, grading, and drainage layouts.
• Understanding of bridge components and typical bridge detailing.
• Good knowledge of CAD standards, layer management, Xrefs, blocks, plotting, and drawing setup.
• Familiarity with coordinate systems, levels, chainages, and survey information.
• Ability to prepare drawings from engineering sketches, design calculations, survey data, and mark-ups.
