Job summary

ABB Motion in Bangalore, India, seeks an experienced procurement professional to manage material purchases aligned with technical specs, cost targets, and delivery commitments. You will work with the category team to identify new suppliers and continuously develop the supplier base.

The role emphasizes driving cost reductions through supplier qualification, audits, and volume-based lookouts while supporting ETO projects and ensuring alignment with global purchasing policies.

Qualifications

• Full Time BE in Electrical, Electrical and Electronics engineering.
• 6–8 years of related work experience (drive panels; LV/MV).
• Strong experience in supplier development related SCM activities.
• Experience in supplier sustainability programs preferred.
• Sourcing of LV drive components.
• Hands-on experience in SAP and digital tools.

Responsibilities

• Purchase materials according to technical specs, price, delivery schedule and terms.
• Ensure purchasing aligns with corporate policies and procedures.
• Identify new suppliers in cooperation with the category team.
• Vendor development and maintenance.
• Supplier identification and cost optimization.
• Maintain balanced value chain and reduce cost/increase value.
• Support sales for new requirements on ETO projects.

Your Role And Responsibilities

In this role, you will have the opportunity to purchase materials according to required technical specifications, price, delivery schedule, and terms. Each day, you will ensure purchasing activities align with corporate purchasing policies and procedures. You will also showcase your expertise by identifying new suppliers in cooperation with the relevant category team.

This role is contributing to the Motion business based at Bangalore, India:

• Vendor Development and Maintenance
• Supplier Identification and partnering for optimized cost
• Continual iteration of Approved vendor list and constant new vendor development for maintaining Balance in Value chain as well as reduction of Cost/Increasing value
• Supplier Identification and partnering for optimized cost
• Total Cost of Ownership, Cost breakdown and Cost Control
• Supplier Qualification and Auditing
• Constant Lookout for Volume based reductions
• Sales support for new requirements for specific ETO projects

Qualifications For The Role

• Full Time BE in Electrical , Electrical and Electronics engineering.
• Prefer 6-8 years of related work experience (preferably in Drive panels. Low Voltage and Medium voltage)
• Strong experience in Supplier development work related SCM activities
• Experience in Supplier sustainability programs preferred
• Sourcing of LV Drive Components
• Hands On Exp in SAP and Digital Tool
