Job summary

ABB Motion at Bangalore, India, seeks a procurement specialist to manage end-to-end purchasing activities. You will release requisitions, create POs, and align them with ERP standards and SOPs while coordinating with suppliers and internal teams to ensure timely delivery.

You will monitor freight, customs, and invoicing, identify delays, and implement recovery plans to maintain high service levels. Engineering degree and SAP expertise are essential.

Qualifications

• Engineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical.
• 5-7 years of experience in Railway/Manufacturing industries as Fulfilment Specialist/Buyer.
• Proficiency in SAP and ERP processes (P2P).
• Strong KPI dashboards, reporting, and SOP documentation skills.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.

Responsibilities

• Release purchase requisitions and initiate purchase orders per ERP and S.O.P.
• Monitor supplier acknowledgments, dispatch, inbound freight, and customs clearance.
• Track PO backlog and coordinate with feeders and suppliers to ensure on-time delivery.
• Identify root causes of delays and implement recovery plans; verify goods receipt and invoice processing.
• Maintain high customer service levels through proactive procurement activities.

You will also showcase your expertise by handling urgent situations to ensure timely deliveries.The work model for the role is: #Li_OnsiteThis role is contributing to the Motion Business based at Bangalore, India:You will be mainly accountable for:Releasing purchase requisitions and initiating purchase orders in the system, aligning them with customer requirements (based on ERP and standard operation procedures) and as per the release strategy and table of authorities.Monitoring suppliers’ order acknowledgments and dispatch advice, along with the inbound freight, customs clearance, and local transportation processes.Tracking the purchase orders backlog and performing regular expending activities with internal (feeder factories) and external suppliers to ensure customer on-time delivery.Minimizing the late backlog by proactively identifying root causes and implementing recovery plans; and tracking goods received at the warehouse to verify appropriate delivery and ensures invoice processing and high customer service level.Qualifications for the roleEngineering Degree in Mechanical or Electrical/ Have a demonstrated track record in SAP P2P process.
