Business Development Head – Fire Safety & Fire Fighting Equipments – Mumbai -
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Preferred: Mechanical/Electrical/Fire & Safety Engineering).
Experience
Extensive proven experience (typically 10+ years, with several in a leadership capacity) in business development or sales within the fire safety industry, automotive industry (especially specialized vehicles), or a related engineering/industrial sector.
Skills Required
- Strong knowledge of fire safety & fighting products (fire extinguishers, suppression systems, hydrants, alarms, sprinklers, etc.).
- Excellent leadership, communication, and presentation skills.
- Strong negotiation and deal‑making abilities.
- Strategic thinking and strong analytical/problem‑solving skills.
- Proficiency in CRM software and Microsoft Office Suite.
- Willingness to travel extensively to client sites, industry events, and trade shows.

Job Resposibility
- Strategic Planning: Develop and execute comprehensive business development strategies to expand market presence and achieve long‑term growth objectives.
- Opportunity Identification: Identify and pursue new business opportunities, including new customer segments (e.g., municipal fire departments, industrial facilities, airports) and geographic markets.
- Relationship Management: Cultivate and maintain strong, long‑term relationships with key stakeholders, including government bodies, procurement teams, distributors, and industry partners.
- Sales and Negotiation Leadership: Lead the sales process, including preparing and delivering compelling presentations and proposals, negotiating complex contracts, and closing high‑value deals.
- Market Analysis: Conduct in-depth market research to stay updated on industry trends, competitor activities, and fire safety regulations and standards to inform strategic decisions.
- Team Leadership and Collaboration: Lead, mentor, and motivate the business development and sales teams, while collaborating closely with cross‑functional departments (engineering, manufacturing, finance, and marketing) to ensure alignment and seamless project delivery.
- Performance Tracking and Reporting: Set key performance indicators (KPIs), track sales performance metrics using CRM systems, and provide regular, data‑driven reports and forecasts to senior management.
- Bid and Tender Management: Oversee the preparation and submission of responses to Requests for Proposals (RFPs) and tender opportunities, ensuring compliance with all requirements.
