Reports to: Sales & Marketing Manager
Employment type: Full-time
Job Purpose
The Business Development Executive identifies potential customers and referral partners, builds strategic partnerships, increases brand awareness, generates qualified leads and converts them into confirmed bookings for Ayurlaya's Ayurvedic healthcare services.
The role moves beyond promotional visits to a measurable, follow-up-driven customer acquisition system.
Key Responsibilities
1. Market Outreach and Partnership Development
- Identify and approach potential customers and referral partners across healthcare, corporate, community and wellness segments.
- Conduct field visits to gynecologists, maternity hospitals, lactation consultants, pregnancy diagnostic centers, pharmacies and ASHA worker networks.
- Pitch employee wellness and maternal support programmes to corporate HR, employee engagement and administration teams, including Technopark companies.
- Build relationships with women's clubs, professional associations, apartment communities, yoga studios, hotels, travel agencies, gyms and play schools.
- Explore and propose structured referral partnerships, with unique partner codes or QR codes and management-approved terms.
2. Lead Generation and Conversion
- Prioritize prospects by relevance and likelihood of conversion, focusing first on healthcare referral channels.
- Present segment-specific pitches and a standard partnership proposal covering services, packages, pricing, inclusions and next steps.
- Secure a defined next action for every promising visit (meeting, presentation, awareness session or follow-up date).
- Follow up consistently and convert interest into qualified enquiries and confirmed bookings.
- Identify the correct decision-maker (HR manager, wellness coordinator, clinician, association head) in each organization.
3. Offline and Local Marketing
- Distribute approved brochures and flyers and place banners with proper permission, at locations relevant to the target audience.
- Use QR codes or WhatsApp enquiry links to trace which campaign, location or partner generated each enquiry.
- Organize or support maternal wellness awareness sessions with women's associations, apartment communities, corporates and wellness centers, using qualified professionals and medically reviewed content.
4. Lead Tracking, Reporting and Analysis
- Maintain a lead register (organization, category, contact person and designation, first visit date, interest level, objections, next follow-up date, status, enquiries, bookings and revenue).
- Record every enquiry with its source, date, requested package, follow-up status and outcome.
- Track campaign cost, materials distributed, enquiries, bookings, revenue, cost per enquiry and cost per booking.
- Prepare monthly performance reports and recommend which channels deserve more or less investment.
5. Compliance and Ethics
- Never obtain or share patient details without appropriate authorization and consent; use brochure, contact or QR-code sharing through clinicians and hospitals instead.
- Make only accurate, verifiable service claims and avoid unsupported medical claims.
- Follow professional, privacy and ethical requirements for healthcare referral arrangements.
- Offer incentives, discounts and special packages only with management approval.
Qualifications and Experience
- Bachelors degree in business administration, Marketing, Commerce or a related field (MBA/PGDM preferred).
- 1 to 3 years of experience in business development, field sales or healthcare/wellness marketing (freshers with strong aptitude may be considered).
- Experience with healthcare, Ayurveda, hospital or B2B partnership sales is an advantage.
Skills and Competencies
- Strong communication, presentation and negotiation skills in English and Malayalam (Hindi/Tamil an advantage).
- Ability to build rapport with doctors, HR professionals and community leaders.
- Knowledge of lead funnels, CRM or lead tracking, and basic ROI analysis.
- Proficiency in Excel/Google Sheets, WhatsApp Business, email and presentation tools.
