Job summary

DDF Consultants is seeking a proactive Business Development professional to identify and pursue government-sector consultancy opportunities in West Bengal. You will liaise with client departments and PSUs, track upcoming tenders/RFPs, and support proposal preparation while building regional relationships.

The role requires strong communication in English and Bengali, and willingness to travel across West Bengal, coordinating with cross-functional teams including design and technical staff.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (mandatory); Architecture, Civil Eng or Business Admin preferred.
• MBA or PG diploma in Marketing/Business Development is a plus.
• Prior exposure to government sector sales/BD is an added advantage.

JOB DESCRIPTION:

Identifying and pursuing government-sector consultancy opportunities in West Bengal, liaising with client departments and PSUs, tracking upcoming tenders/RFPs, supporting proposal preparation, and building institutional relationships on DDF's behalf in the region.

• Business development / lead generation experience, ideally in architecture, engineering, infrastructure, or government consultancy sectors
• Familiarity with government procurement processes tender/RFP tracking, GeM portal, PSU and government department engagement
• Strong relationship-building and client liaison skills, especially with government officials and institutional clients
• Proposal support ability to assist with technical/commercial proposal inputs and coordination with the design/technical team
• Market intelligence tracking upcoming projects, budgets, and department activity across West Bengal
• Good written and verbal communication (English and Bengali preferred, given regional client interaction)
• Willingness to travel extensively within West Bengal
• Basic MS Office proficiency (Word, Excel, PowerPoint) for reports and presentations

Good to have

• Existing network within West Bengal government departments, PWD, urban development authorities, or PSUs
• Background in architecture/engineering/civil sector (even non-technical roles benefit from domain familiarity)
• Prior experience in a consultancy or EPC/infrastructure firm's BD team
• Bengali Language preferable

EDUCATIONAL QUALIFICATION (MIN)

• Bachelor's degree in any discipline (mandatory) — Architecture, Civil Engineering, or Business Administration preferred given the technical/government consultancy nature of the role
• MBA or PG diploma in Marketing/Business Development is a plus, not mandatory
• Prior exposure to government sector sales/BD (through coursework, internship, or work experience) is an added advantage
