The candidate must ensure that all production and packaging activities are carried out systematically, with minimum wastage, consistent quality, proper documentation, and a strong focus on audit readiness and first-pass compliance.

2. Key Roles and Responsibilities
A. Bottling, Filling and Packaging Operations
  • Operate, monitor, and coordinate filling and bottling lines for honey and other food products.
  • Ensure accurate filling, proper sealing and capping, and consistent packaging quality for glass and PET bottles and jars.
  • Supervise labelling operations to ensure correct label placement, product information, batch details, and packaging specifications.
  • Monitor carton packing, product arrangement, carton sealing, and finished-goods readiness for dispatch.
  • Ensure that the correct packaging materials are used for each product, SKU, and production order.
  • Verify line clearance and ensure that packaging materials from previous production runs are removed before starting a new batch.
  • Maintain the required production speed without compromising product quality or food safety.
B. Manpower Management and Line Discipline
  • Allocate manpower to filling, labelling, inspection, packing, and other line activities.
  • Ensure workers follow assigned duties, hygiene requirements, safety rules, and production schedules.
  • Monitor attendance, productivity, work discipline, and adherence to production targets.
  • Train operators and helpers in correct machine operation, handling of packaging materials, and SOP compliance.
  • Maintain an organised, clean, and disciplined production and packing environment.
  • Coordinate with the Production Manager to resolve manpower shortages, bottlenecks, and line stoppages.
C. Quality Control and First-Pass Compliance
  • Conduct routine in-process checks for fill quantity, cap tightness, leakage, bottle and jar condition, label positioning, coding, and carton packing.
  • Identify, segregate, and report defective, damaged, or non-conforming products and packaging materials.
  • Ensure that incorrect labels, missing codes, damaged containers, loose caps, leakage, and other defects are detected and corrected before products move to the next stage.

  • Maintain an accurate, shift-wise and batch-wise log of production output and packaging wastage.
  • Record wastage of honey, glass bottles, PET bottles, jars, caps, labels, cartons, and other packaging materials, wherever applicable.
  • Track breakage, leakage, filling losses, rejected labels, damaged cartons, and other production-related losses.
  • Reconcile packaging material issued, consumed, rejected, and returned against production output.
  • Investigate abnormal wastage and report deviations to the Production Manager.
  • Maintain production registers, downtime records, rejection reports, and other required documentation.
  • Support continuous improvement initiatives to reduce wastage and improve line efficiency.
E. Food Safety, Hygiene and SOP Compliance
  • Ensure strict adherence to applicable food safety requirements, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP), Good Hygiene Practices (GHP), and company SOPs.
  • Maintain personal hygiene, proper protective clothing, hand hygiene, and hygienic handling of food-contact materials.
