Job summary

Contract Pharmaceuticals Limited in Dahej, Gujarat is seeking a competent Shift Maintenance Engineer to ensure safe, reliable operation of plant equipment and utilities during the assigned shift, compliant with GMP, EHS, SOPs and statutory requirements.

You will manage preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance, attend breakdowns on a priority basis to minimize downtime, coordinate with Production for timely issue resolution, monitor critical parameters, and ensure smooth shift handovers.

Responsibilities

• Ensure smooth functioning of all production equipment and utilities during the assigned shift.
• Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns on a priority basis to minimize production downtime.
• Coordinate with Production for timely identification and resolution of equipment-related issues.
• Monitor critical equipment and machinery parameters during the shift.
• Ensure proper shift handover covering breakdowns, pending jobs, equipment status, and critical observations.
• Maintain effective response time for emergency and critical breakdowns.
• Provide maintenance support for API manufacturing equipment including reactors, centrifuges, drying and solvent recovery systems, milling equipment, HVAC and other utilities.

1. Job Purpose

To ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted operation of plant equipment and utilitiesduring the assigned shift by effectively managing preventive, breakdown, and corrective maintenance activities, minimizing equipment downtime, and ensuring compliance with GMP, EHS, SOPs, and statutory requirements.

2. Key Responsibilities

A. Shift Maintenance Operations

• Ensure smooth functioning of all production equipment and utilities during the assigned shift.
• Attend and resolve equipment breakdowns on a priority basis to minimize production downtime.
• Coordinate with Production for timely identification and resolution of equipment-related issues.
• Monitor critical equipment and machinery parameters during the shift.
• Ensure proper shift handover covering breakdowns, pending jobs, equipment status, and critical observations.

B. API Manufacturing Equipment

Provide maintenance support for equipment such as:

• Reactors and agitators
• Centrifuges
• Nutsche / Filter systems
• ANFD / dryers
• Vacuum systems
• Blowers and pumps
• Compressors
• Heat exchangers
• Scrubbers
• Chillers and cooling systems
• Solvent recovery systems
• Milling / micronizing equipment
• Material handling systems
• HVAC and other critical manufacturing utilities

C. Breakdown Maintenance

• Diagnose mechanical/electrical/instrumentation failures and restore equipment within minimum possible time.
• Conduct root-cause analysis for recurring breakdowns.
• Ensure availability of critical spares and coordinate with stores/purchase as required.
• Record breakdown details, downtime, action taken, and restoration time.
• Identify chronic equipment problems and recommend permanent corrective actions.
