Job description

The Boiler Operator will be responsible for operating, monitoring, and maintaining boiler systems and related utility equipment in a pharmaceutical manufacturing facility. This requires an A Boiler Operator certification, strong safety awareness, and practical knowledge of steam generation, pressure control, fuel handling, water treatment, and preventive maintenance. The candidate will ensure safe boiler operations, uninterrupted steam supply, accurate documentation, and compliance with statutory and company safety requirements.

• Operate boiler systems safely as per statutory requirements, SOPs, and engineering instructions.
• Monitor boiler parameters such as steam pressure, temperature, water level, fuel consumption, and feed water quality.
• Ensure uninterrupted steam supply to production, utility, and facility operations.
• Perform routine checks of boiler, pumps, valves, pipelines, gauges, burners, and safety devices.
• Maintain boiler logbooks, pressure records, fuel records, water treatment data, and utility readings.
• Follow safety procedures, PPE requirements, and emergency response practices during boiler operations.
• Coordinate with engineering and maintenance teams for preventive maintenance and breakdown support.
• Conduct blowdown, water level checks, chemical dosing, and basic boiler housekeeping activities.
• Report abnormal pressure, leakage, noise, vibration, flame failure, or equipment malfunction immediately.
• Support inspection, testing, and statutory compliance activities related to boiler operations.
• Assist in maintaining fuel handling systems, feed water systems, and steam distribution lines.
• Ensure proper operation of safety valves, alarms, interlocks, and control systems.
• Maintain cleanliness and safe working conditions in boiler and utility areas.
• Support energy conservation, fuel efficiency, and utility performance improvement initiatives.
• Ensure boiler operations comply with company policies, environmental standards, and safety regulations.
