Job summary

URC Construction is seeking a skilled MEP BIM Design Engineer to join our Chennai Corporate Office. The role focuses on BIM-based MEP design and modelling for building projects and coordinating services with architectural and structural disciplines.

The ideal candidate will have hands-on BIM modelling for HVAC, electrical, plumbing and fire protection, and must coordinate MEP services across disciplines. 1–4 years of relevant experience is preferred.

Qualifications

• Hands-on BIM modelling and MEP design experience.
• Proficiency in Autodesk Revit MEP is mandatory.
• Knowledge of AutoCAD and BIM coordination processes.
• Good understanding of MEP systems and building services.
• Ability to read and interpret MEP, architectural and structural drawings.

Responsibilities

• Develop and maintain MEP BIM models for building and construction projects.
• Prepare and update BIM models for HVAC, Electrical, Plumbing, Fire Protection and other MEP services.
• Create detailed 2D drawings, layouts, sections and coordinated MEP drawings from BIM models.
• Coordinate MEP services with Architectural and Structural BIM models.
• Identify and resolve clashes/interferences between MEP systems and other disciplines.
• Participate in BIM coordination meetings and incorporate required design changes.
• Prepare shop drawings, coordinated drawings and as-built drawings as required.
• Ensure BIM models and drawings comply with project specifications, standards and design requirements.
• Review models and drawings for accuracy, completeness and constructability.
• Coordinate with Design, Planning, Execution and Project teams to resolve technical issues.
• Maintain proper documentation and revision control of BIM models and drawings.

About the Role

The ideal candidate will have hands-on experience in BIM-based MEP design and modelling for building/construction projects and should be capable of coordinating MEP services with architectural and structural disciplines.

Education

B.E. / B.Tech in Mechanical engineering discipline.

Preferred Experience

• 1–4 years of relevant experience in MEP BIM modelling/design.


• Experience in building/high-rise/commercial/hospital projects will be an added advantage.


• Candidates with hands-on experience in Revit MEP and BIM coordination are preferred.
