Job summary

Linxon is seeking a BIM Coordinator–OPC to support project and tender activities for substation projects, ensuring design quality and safety per contractual documents. The role covers multi-discipline BIM responsibilities across assignments, driving standards and collaboration with stakeholders.

• Executed project engineering per BIM process standard.

• High attention to detail and quality.

Responsibilities

• Act as BIM specialist, guide drafting teams on complex designs.
• Collaborate with suppliers and review vendor docs for BIM standards.
• Prepare roadmap to reach BIM competency level 3 organization-wide.
• Analyze benefit vs cost for new CAD software requirements.
• Train resources to develop in BIM Level 2.
• Perform gap analysis of current skill vs advanced BIM levels.
• Identify and implement actions to raise 3D drafting skills.
• Ensure BIM design activities meet QA/QC standards as per contract.
• Interact with customers providing BIM guidance on designs.
• Execute independent BIM work packages from HUBs.
• Ensure standard processes/tools are applied in drawings.
• Contribute to design reviews and QA/QC.
• Report issues to management with recommendations for resolution.

Overview

The BIM Coordinator– OPC will work on project/Tender specific activities assigned to the OPC group across medium engineering complexity substation projects. This role involves design for engineering discipline across multiple projects, ensuring highest quality standards and safety requirements are met.

Responsibilities

• Act as a BIM specialist, preparing and providing guidance to drafting resources/project teams on highly complex designs/drawings.
• Collaborate with suppliers and review vendor documentation to ensure BIM standards are implemented.
• Prepare roadmap to drive BIM competency maturity level to 3 for the organizational level.
• Investigate and analyze benefit vs cost for investing in new software requirements in CAD.
• Train and coach resources to develop in BIM Level 2.
• Perform gap analysis of current skill level against advanced BIM level requirements.
• Identify and implement key action points to move the 3D skill level of the drafting workforce to advanced BIM levels.
• Ensure BIM design activities are delivered efficiently and executed in accordance with quality standards specified in contractual documents.
• Interact with customers and provide technical guidance on BIM design related queries.
• Execute independent BIM design work packages received from HUB’s.
• Ensure accurate application and implementation of standard processes and tools in preparing accurate drawings.
• Contribute to design reviews and verification following established QA/QC process.
• Report any contract/quality/program/cost issues to management, along with recommendations for resolution.

Qualifications

• 10+ years’ experience in CAD/BIM design.
• Diploma or Bachelor’s Degree in Power Engineering.
• BIM tool & process expert with substation experience.
• Executed project engineering as per BIM process standard.
• Good knowledge of AIS & GIS Substation design.
• Strong awareness of BIM standards (PASS 1192/ISO 19650).
• High attention to detail and quality.
