Job Title: BIM Modeler – Civil
Location: Chennai, India

What will you do?

• Independently work on AutoCAD/MicroStation/Revit for 2D & 3D design and detail engineering of substation projects.
• Use BIM/Revit/Tekla for 2D & 3D design and detail engineering; BIM Process knowledge of PAS 1192 is mandatory.
• Develop tender engineering drawings quickly while maintaining quality.
• Ensure completeness of assigned packages and correct function of the resulting substation system.
• Confirm engineering is developed with all information available, and that inter‑discipline checks have been conducted; document results in project‑specific storage.
• Resolve CAD issues that arise during engineering development.
• Report and keep records for all engineering changes; cooperate with the team and agree on project‑specific impacts caused by changes.
• Ensure compliance with Linxon and client engineering guidelines, standards and quality across the complete engineering process and adhere to the organisational QMS.
• Create work plans and cost estimates in own area of responsibility.
• Contribute to the up‑to‑date design issue log.
• Understand and follow Linxon OHS procedures and guidelines.
• Participate in CAD design and BIM model reviews.
• Provide input for close‑out report and lessons learned; follow/review lessons learned for next projects.

Experience, Education And Other Skills Required

• +6 years experience in CAD/BIM design.
• Diploma or bachelor’s degree in civil engineering.
• Sound knowledge in AutoCAD, Revit, Tekla tools; advantage if MicroStation knowledge.
• Overall design experience on AIS & GIS substation design.
• Hands‑on experience working in RCC and steel structures.
• Understanding of water supply, drain layouts and ground level concepts.
• Revit tool hands‑on capability.
• Knowledge of international codes such as ANSI/IEEE/BS/EN/NEC/NFPA.
• High attention to detail and quality.
• Experience executing project engineering in Revit platform.
• Site experience would be beneficial.
• Looking for a BIM Modeler with substation experience.
