Job summary

WSP in India seeks a qualified Architect to develop and manage innovative design solutions within multiple projects. You will collaborate with consultants, prepare architectural documents, and communicate effectively with teams and clients.

The ideal candidate will hold a BArch degree and have experience in Data center, Rail, Aviation, and Mixed-Use projects. Strong communication skills and proficiency in Revit are mandatory.

Job description

Responsibilities

• Under direction of the ME project lead, you will develop, modify, and review models and drawings ensuring the incorporation of design intent.
• Duties may include development and implementation of project design concepts, project modelling, developing sketches, conducting research and data collection, preparing presentations and reports, and general production of coordinated design and construction documents including specifications.
• Work on multiple projects in innovative ways that explore methods of achieving design solutions, completing tasks within established deadlines and budgets, and effectively utilizing resources to address project requirements.
• Interact with internal and external consultants, participating on project development, and present ideas clearly and persuasively.
• Prepare, manage, and modify architectural documents, plans, elevations, sections, and details as directed by others in the project team, following standards.
• Develop solutions to technical and design problems following established design standards with attention to detail, efficiency and quality.
• May assist in the development of project scope, plans, and services during the contract process.
• Knowledge of Data center, Rail, Aviation, Mixed-Use Project delivery is required.
• Prepare 2D and 3D presentations, models, design drawings and renderings.
• Incorporate Integrated Sustainable Design solutions into projects, always considering the impact our projects have on the wider world.

Qualifications

• Technical design knowledge/skills in ME construction methodology desirable but not mandatory.
• Experience working autonomously at times, and as part of an architectural design team, managing and delivering Tender and Construction Stage works packages.
• Have worked on Data center, Rail, Aviation, Mixed-Use projects with demonstrable experience; have worked across industry sectors with demonstrable experience.
• Have an ability to communicate technical detail graphically and effectively to both colleagues and client teams.
• Previous experience in Architectural firms of repute and/or multi-disciplinary global design firms desirable.
• Must be a qualified Architect with a 5 years BArch degree from a reputed institute in India.
• Excellent working knowledge of building regulations and working to international standards.
• Working capability and proficiency in Revit with exposure to common data environment / ACC.
• Good communication skills with the ability to communicate effectively (both verbal & written) mandatory.

People Management

• Able to manage junior colleagues and provide guidance and support where necessary.
• Manage design tasks and deliverables and report on progress against the design program to the project lead.
• Report on progress and risks associated with the project and program.
• Follow company values and exhibit appropriate behaviours.
• Manage time efficiently and assist/input into team meetings to review design program.

Business & Financial

• Support the Project Lead in developing the project execution plan and forecasting resource.
• Input on project programming.
