Job description

Billing Manager oversees the patient billing, revenue cycle, insurance claims, and cash collection operations of a healthcare facility. They ensure that outpatient, inpatient, surgery, and diagnostic services are billed accurately and collected in a timely manner while preventing revenue leakage

Role & responsibilities

• Revenue Cycle & Billing Operations: Manage end-to-end patient billing, charge entry, claim preparation, submission, and payment posting across outpatient (OPD), inpatient (IPD), surgeries, and diagnostics.
• Insurance & TPA Management: Handle cashless and reimbursement cases with Third-Party Administrators (TPAs), government schemes (such as CGHS, ECHS, or Ayushman Bharat), corporate clients, and private insurance companies.
• Denial & A/R Management: Track and document claim denials, rejections, and deductions. Build and execute action plans to appeal and recover outstanding accounts receivable (A/R).
• Tariff & Package Control: Maintain updated schedules of hospital tariffs, room packages, service codes, and MoUs in coordination with clinical and administrative departments.
• Team Leadership & Training: Supervise, schedule, and mentor billing executives, cashiers, and insurance desk staff across shifts.
• Compliance & Audits: Ensure billing practices comply with healthcare regulations, tax rules (such as GST/TDS), and payer contracts, supporting both internal and external audits.
• Reporting & Analytics: Prepare Management Information System (MIS) reports on collections, aging receivables, denial trends, and daily revenue reconciliation
