Apollo Hospitals Pune seeks a billing executive to manage bill generation, auditing, insurance coordination, and cash handling in a patient-focused revenue cycle role.

The ideal candidate has graduation, willingness to work shift rotations, and healthcare billing experience; HIPAA compliance and confidentiality are essential.

Role & responsibilities

• Bill Generation & Auditing
• Generate accurate OPD, IPD, emergency, and procedure bills using the Hospital Information System (HIS).
• Cross-verify charge sheets against services provided by wards, ICU, pharmacy, and diagnostic departments.
• Prepare interim and final discharge bills and audit them before presentation to the patient. [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Insurance, TPA & Cashless Claims
• Coordinate with the insurance desk and Third-Party Administrators (TPAs) for pre-authorization and cashless approvals.
• Submit required medical documentation, diagnosis codes (ICD-10/CPT), and itemized bills.
• Follow up on pending, queried, or rejected insurance claims and coordinate resubmissions. [1, 2, 3]
• Payment Collection & Cash Handling
• Collect payments via cash, credit/debit cards, UPI, or corporate accounts and issue official receipts.
• Reconcile daily collections, match POS/cash registers, and hand over daily shift reports to the finance department.
• Follow up on overdue or partial payments from patients or corporate sponsors. [1, 2, 3, 4]
• Patient & Department Coordination
• Answer patient or family questions regarding bill breakdowns and tariff structures.
• Liaise with nursing stations, doctors, and pharmacy staff to rectify missing entries or wrong charges.
• Maintain strict confidentiality of patient records and financial data in line with HIPAA or local compliance standards. [1, 2, 3, 4]
