Job summary

Portway Solutions India Private Limited is seeking a detail-oriented Transportation Billing Specialist to join our logistics team. You will review shipment documentation, validate freight charges, and generate customer invoices to maintain revenue integrity.

Responsibilities include auditing documents, reconciling charge discrepancies with Customer Service, Dispatch, Drivers, Warehouse and Operations, and supporting accounts receivable with invoice queries.

Qualifications

• 2–4 years of experience in transportation billing or logistics.
• Proficient with BOLs, Waybills, Packing Slips and PODs.
• Strong Excel skills and attention to detail.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.

Responsibilities

• Review completed shipments and prepare accurate customer invoices.
• Verify freight charges based on shipment details and customer agreements.
• Process billing for LTL, FTL, courier and other transportation services.
• Audit waybills, BOLs, packing slips, PODs and supporting documents.
• Verify counts, weights, shipments, and related data in the system.
• Identify discrepancies and coordinate with CS, Dispatch, Drivers, Warehouse, and Ops teams and resolve.
• Respond to billing inquiries from customers and internal teams.
• Assist Accounts Receivable with invoice clarifications and payment questions.
• Identify missing paperwork and OS&D issues before invoicing.

We are seeking a detail-oriented and organized Transportation Billing Specialist to join our logistics and transportation team. The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing shipment documentation, validating freight charges, ensuring billing accuracy, and generating customer invoices. This role plays a critical part in maintaining revenue integrity and supporting smooth transportation operations.

The successful candidate will be responsible for reviewing shipment documentation, validating freight charges, ensuring billing accuracy, and generating customer invoices.

Responsibilities

• Review completed shipments and prepare accurate customer invoices.
• Verify freight charges based on shipment details, service type, and customer agreements.
• Process billing for LTL, FTL, courier, reefer, power tailgate, storage, cross-dock, and other transportation services.
• Audit waybills, Bills of Lading (BOL), packing slips, proof of delivery documents, and supporting paperwork.
• Verify piece count, pallet/skid count, shipment weight, weight units, commodity type, accessorize charges, bill-to accounts, zone codes, PO numbers, BOL numbers, and tracking references.
• Compare shipment documentation against information entered into the transportation management system.
• Investigate discrepancies and coordinate with Customer Service, Dispatch, Drivers, Warehouse, and Operations teams.
• Respond to billing-related inquiries from customers and internal departments.
• Assist Accounts Receivable with invoice clarification and payment-related questions.
• Identify billing exceptions, missing paperwork, and incomplete shipment records.
• Support resolution of Over, Short & Damaged (OS&D) shipments before invoicing.

Qualifications

• High school diploma or equivalent (Associate’s or Bachelor’s degree preferred).

• Strong understanding of BOLs, Waybills, Packing Slips, Purchase Orders, and Proof of Delivery documents.
• Excellent attention to detail and accuracy.
• Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
• Proficiency in Microsoft Excel and Microsoft Office.
• Experience with Transportation Management Systems (TMS) preferred.

Required Skills
