Job summary

Switchgear And Control Technics is seeking a Bending Machine Operator to set up and operate bending machines for metal sheets, plates, tubes, or profiles. You will interpret engineering drawings, select tooling, adjust machine settings, and ensure products meet dimensions and tolerances with a focus on safety.

The role requires experience with bending/press brake machines in manufacturing, adherence to SOPs, and meticulous documentation of production records.

Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Mechanical preferred.
• Experience operating bending/press brake machines in manufacturing/fabrication.
• 3-5 ITI candidates with relevant practical knowledge may be considered.

Responsibilities

• Operate Amada bending machine (hydraulic, mechanical, CNC, or press brake) as per production requirements.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, bending schedules, dimensions, and work instructions.
• Set up the machine, select tooling, and adjust parameters according to job requirements.
• Perform accurate bending operations maintaining specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Check material specs, thickness, and condition before starting operation.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and adjust machine for quality.

Job Summary

The Bending Machine Operator is responsible for operating and setting up bending machines to bend metal sheets, plates, tubes, or profiles according to engineering drawings, work instructions, and production requirements. The operator must ensure accurate dimensions, proper machine operation, product quality, and safe working practices.

Key Responsibilities

• Amada Bending Machine, Operate hydraulic, mechanical, CNC, or press brake bending machines as per production requirements.
• Read and understand engineering drawings, bending schedules, dimensions, and work instructions.
• Set up the machine, select appropriate tooling, and adjust machine parameters according to job requirements.
• Perform accurate bending operations while maintaining specified angles, dimensions, and tolerances.
• Check material specifications, thickness, and condition before starting the operation.
• Conduct first-piece inspection and make necessary machine adjustments to achieve required quality.
• Use measuring instruments such as vernier calipers, measuring tapes, angle gauges, and other inspection tools.
• Monitor machine performance and report abnormalities, breakdowns, or tooling issues to the supervisor/maintenance team.
• Ensure correct identification and handling of raw materials and finished components.
• Maintain production records, inspection reports, and other required documentation.
• Minimize material wastage, rework, and rejection through proper machine setting and process control.
• Perform routine cleaning, lubrication, and basic preventive maintenance as instructed.
• Maintain proper housekeeping around the machine and work area.
• Follow company safety procedures, PPE requirements, and standard operating procedures.
• Coordinate with production, quality, stores, and maintenance teams as required.
• Carry out other production-related duties assigned by the supervisor.

Required Qualifications

• ITI / Diploma in Fitter, Sheet Metal, Fabrication, Mechanical, or a related trade preferred.
• Relevant experience in operating bending/press brake machines in a manufacturing or fabrication environment.
• 3-5 ITI candidates with relevant practical knowledge may also be considered.
