Qualifications

Responsibilities

• Provide L2/L3 application support for Java-based apps hosted on Azure.
• Monitor health of apps and Azure resources; manage alerts, dashboards, and performance metrics.
• Troubleshoot production issues across application, infrastructure, and deployment areas.
• Analyze logs with Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, and Application Insights to identify root causes.
• Support deployments and releases via Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Coordinate with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams on incidents.
• Assist with disaster recovery, backup, high availability, and business continuity tasks.
• Create runbooks, SOPs, and troubleshooting guides.

We are looking for an Azure Application Support Engineer with strong experience in supporting enterprise applications hosted on Microsoft Azure. The role involves providing production support, troubleshooting application and monitoring Azure resources, supporting deployments, and working closely with development and DevOps teams to ensure application availability and performance.

Key Responsibilities:

• Provide L2/L3 application support for Java-based enterprise applications hosted on Microsoft Azure.
• Monitor application health, Azure resources, alerts, dashboards, and performance metrics to ensure high availability.
• Troubleshoot and resolve application, infrastructure, connectivity, performance, and deployment-related issues in production environments.
• Analyze application logs, Azure Monitor, Log Analytics, Application Insights, and other monitoring tools to identify root causes.
• Support application deployments and releases through Azure DevOps CI/CD pipelines.
• Work closely with development, DevOps, infrastructure, and security teams to resolve production incidents and service issues.
• Support Azure services such as Azure VMs, App Services, Azure Functions, Storage, Azure SQL, VNets, Application Gateway, and Load Balancers.
• Perform incident, problem, and change management activities in accordance with defined support processes and SLAs.
• Create and maintain runbooks, SOPs, troubleshooting guides, support documentation, and application architecture diagrams.
• Support automation and infrastructure provisioning using PowerShell, Azure DevOps, Ansible, Terraform, ARM/Bicep, or similar tools.
• Monitor and troubleshoot CI/CD pipeline failures, deployment issues, configuration problems, and application availability.
• Collaborate with security teams to support WAF, authentication, access management, and security policies.
• Support disaster recovery, backup, high availability, and business continuity activities for critical applications.
• Identify recurring issues and implement automation and process improvements to reduce manual intervention.
• Participate in on-call and weekend support as required.
• Provide technical guidance and knowledge sharing to junior engineers and application support teams.
