Job summary

ConveGenius.AI in India is seeking a senior leader to drive skilling policy engagement with central and state governments. You will build relationships with ministries like MSDE, NCVET, DGT, NSDC and state missions, and steer evidence-based policy decisions to expand public skilling impact.

The role requires 8+ years in public policy, government engagement, and a track record of delivering multi-stakeholder programs.

Qualifications

• MBA or Masters in Public Policy or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in skilling/public policy or government engagement.
• Strong exposure to working with government ecosystems in skilling, vocational education, or workforce development.
• Proven track record of advising and managing relationships with senior bureaucrats.
• Experience leveraging tech products for social impact is a plus.

Responsibilities

• Collaborate with leadership to co-develop program designs, proposals and partnerships.
• Lead impact articulation through clear frameworks for measurement, reporting, and documentation.

Key Responsibilities:

• Build and sustain strong relationships with senior government officials and bureaucrats in central and state government ministries in skilling ecosystem — including MSDE, NCVET, DGT, NSDC, and State Skill Development Missions.
• Drive evidence-backed policy advocacy decisions in the skilling and TVET space.
• Represent the organisation in strategic discussions with senior government stakeholders, Sector Skill Councils, industry bodies, and employers across the skilling ecosystem.
• Understand the skill development department's priorities, decision cycles, and policy environments (PMKVY, NAPS/apprenticeships, ITIs, vocational education in schools under NEP 2020) and align organisational efforts.
• Publish articles to communicate impact and key insights from the organisation's work in the skilling domain.
• Identify and shape growth opportunities across central, state governments and thematic areas.
• Collaborate with leadership to co-develop program designs, proposals, and partnership models.
• Lead impact articulation through clear frameworks for measurement, reporting, and documentation — with a sharp focus on placement, wage, and employability outcomes.
• Engage with ecosystem organisations to broadbase policy recommendations and drive adoption.
• Communicate insights, progress, and impact narratives effectively to both government and internal leadership.
• Be ready to operate in ambiguous environments, chart your own way forward, and juggle multiple priorities.

Qualifications:

• MBA or Masters in Public Policy or related field.
• 8+ years of relevant experience in skilling domain (a must have) in skilling operations, consulting, public policy, project management, or government engagement. Past experience in government engagement is a must have.
• Strong exposure to working with government ecosystems in skilling, vocational education, or workforce development.
• Extremely high on ownership and a do-whatever-it-takes approach to achieving outcomes.
• Prior experience in advising and managing relationships with senior bureaucrats (Secretary, Joint Secretary in Central Government, or Principal Secretary or above in state government) is essential.
• Prior experience and understanding of leveraging tech products for social impact, or having developed tech products / DPGs.
• Have driven data-backed advocacy efforts with senior ecosystem stakeholders to drive data-backed policy decisions.
• Experience in leading teams and managing complex, multi-stakeholder programs.
• Understanding of industry and employer engagement, apprenticeships, and labour-market linkages (strongly preferred).
• Strategic thinker with a strong execution bias.
• Comfortable operating in ambiguity and navigating complex stakeholder environments.
• Data-driven, impact-oriented, and deeply committed to improving public skilling and employability outcomes.
• Strong interpersonal skills and a collaborative leadership style.
