Job summary

Parason Machinery in India is seeking an Automation Engineer to lead DCS, PLC, HMI, and SCADA development for process control systems. You will design and test DCS logic, program PLCs, build HMI/SCADA screens, and configure communications across field devices.

The role requires hands-on instrumentation knowledge (4-20 mA, RTD, thermocouples), drive integration, and commissioning. Willingness to travel domestically and internationally is essential.

Qualifications

• 4–5 years of automation engineering experience.

Responsibilities

• DCS logic development, testing, FAT/SAT, and troubleshooting.
• PLC programming, I/O mapping, and equipment logic.
• HMI development including screens, tags, alarms, and trends.
• SCADA development, communication configuration and reports.
• Instrumentation knowledge of 4-20 mA, RTD, thermocouples and signals.
• Drive integration and knowledge of PROFINET/PROFIBUS/Modbus/Ethernet/IP/OPC.
• Commissioning, I/O checks, FAT/SAT, and documentation.
• Site support and travel to client sites as required.

JOB RESPONSIBILITIES AUTOMATION ENGINEER

1. DCS Logic Development

• Develop and modify DCS logic, sequences, interlocks, permissives, alarms, and PID loops.
• Perform logic testing, FAT/SAT, and DCS troubleshooting.

2. PLC Programming & Development

• Develop and troubleshoot PLC programs, I/O mapping, sequences, and equipment logic.
• Integrate VFDs, drives, instruments, and field devices.

3. HMI Development

• Develop HMI screens, tags, alarms, trends, Auto/Manual controls, and equipment status.
• Test HMI and PLC functionality.

4. SCADA Development

• Develop SCADA screens, tags, alarms, trends, reports, and faceplates.
• Configure PLC/DCS, OPC, and field-device communication.

5. Instrumentation

• Good knowledge of process instrumentation, 4–20 mA, RTD, thermocouple, and digital/analog signals.
• Understand P&ID, loop drawings, I/O lists, control valves, transmitters, and sensors.

6. Drives & Communication

• Integrate and troubleshoot VFDs and drives.
• Knowledge of PROFINET, PROFIBUS, Modbus, Ethernet/IP, and OPC communication.

7. Commissioning & Troubleshooting

• Perform I/O checking, loop checking, FAT/SAT, commissioning, and troubleshooting.
• Coordinate with Electrical, Instrumentation, Mechanical, and Process teams.
• Maintain automation documentation, backups, and commissioning reports.

8. Site Support & Travel

• Willing to travel domestically and internationally for installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, testing, and project support.
• Willing to work at customer/project sites as per project requirements and schedules.
