Job summary

Idexcel in Chennai is seeking a skilled Mechanical Design Engineer with 4–8 years of experience to design process skids and frames using Autodesk Inventor, ensure GD&T compliance, and manage design data in Autodesk Vault. The role focuses on piping modelling, P&ID reading, and hygienic equipment layouts.

You will produce fabrication drawings, BOMs, and layouts that meet ASME BPE standards, supporting GMP environments in biopharma or related sectors.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering or related field.
• 6+ years of hands-on experience in mechanical design, specifically for skids and structures in biopharma or related industries.
• Advanced proficiency in Autodesk Inventor and Vault is mandatory.

Responsibilities

• Design & Modelling: Develop 3D models for process skids, frames, and support structures using Autodesk Inventor.
• GD&T Application: Apply Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T) to engineering drawings to ensure functional fit, form, and manufacturability.
• Data Management: Control all design revisions and file lifecycles within Autodesk Vault.
• Technical Documentation: Produce detailed fabrication drawings, assembly layouts, and accurate Bills of Materials (BOM).
• Equipment Layouts: Design piping and equipment arrangements that comply with hygienic standards (ASME BPE) and P&IDs.
