Responsibilities

• Lead the team in detailed engineering and review solar PV plant projects.
• Deliver projects within the allocated time and budget.
• Design and engineer DC and AC side electrical systems for MW-scale solar PV and rooftop plants.
• Prepare detailed designs including MV system up to 33 kV.
• Conduct lightning risk assessments and perform lighting calculations.
• Perform short-circuit current and load-flow studies to size equipment.
• Size cables: string, power, control; plan trenches and raceways.
• Design protection systems with sizing for fuses, connectors, and SPD per IEC/IS/IEEE.
• Calculate Auxiliary Load and perform illumination and ventilation sizing.
• Design inverter stations, MV transformers and metering systems.

Job Description

The position requires ability to efficientlymulti-task and manage multiple projects/tasks simultaneously,with challenging timelines. The ability to effectively prioritize and execute tasks andensuring on time delivery shall be crucial.

The principal responsibilities shall essentially include:

• Leadthe team in detailed engineering and review engineering projects of solar PV plants. This shall include client and internal co-ordination.
• To deliver projects within the allocated time and budget.
• Designand engineering of DC and AC side electrical systems of MW scale solar PV and rooftop. This shall include developingelectrical schemes and PV plant layout detailing such as DC Cableroutine layouts, DC Grouping.
• Shall be able to dodetailed designs of solar plants, including MV system (upto 33kV).
• Conductinglightning risk assessment, performing lighting calculations and conductor selection as per the national/ international code.
• Conductand review short circuit current, Load Flow calculation to finalize equipment ratings and sizes.
• Cablesizing - String Cable, Power Cable (DC and AC) sizing & calculation;Control Cable sizing, lengthCalculations and cable accessories selections, Design of cable trenches and underground raceways analysis.
• Designthe protection system including sizing Calculations for the protection Fuse, Connectors, SCB, SPD all DC and all otherequipment of solar PV plant as per IEC, IS, IEEE standards.
• AuxiliaryLoad calculation AC & DC and designing schematic diagram of auxiliary loads. Performing illumination sizingcalculations, Ventilation calculations, Fire alarm system for the Buildings and open fields of Solar PVarray.
• Design and engineering of all the aspects of inverter stations, MV transformer stations, MV Switching stations, Utility metering systems etc.
• Shallhave depth knowledge of MV and HV equipment selection and review of vendor drawing and documents.
• Knowledgein DC & AC side engineering specifications and standards including IEC, NEC, IEEE, ANSI, SEC, IS etc.
• Consultancy / EPC background with exposure to utility scale solar PV projects shall be desirable.
