Job summary

Amara Hospital in Tirupati is seeking an experienced IP Operations leader to oversee day-to-day admission, transfer, discharge and bed allocation processes. You will drive patient flow, optimize bed occupancy, and coordinate with doctors, nursing, billing, insurance, pharmacy and diagnostics to ensure smooth patient services.

The role requires 5–10 years' hospital operations experience, preferably in IP operations, with strong leadership, communication and analytical skills to meet NABH

Qualifications

  • Bachelor's or Master's in Hospital Administration, Healthcare Management, or related field.
  • 5–10 years of experience in hospital operations, preferably IP operations.
  • Experience managing IP Operations and cross-functional coordination.

Responsibilities

  • Manage day-to-day IP operations, including admission, transfer, discharge, and bed allocation.
  • Monitor and improve patient flow and bed occupancy for efficient resource use.
  • Coordinate with Doctors, Nursing, Billing, Insurance/TPA, Pharmacy, Diagnostics, Housekeeping and other departments.
  • Ensure timely completion of admission and discharge procedures.
  • Monitor patient/attendant concerns and coordinate with departments for resolution.
  • Supervise IP Operations team and optimize manpower utilization.
  • Monitor discharge turnaround time and identify areas for improvement.
  • Ensure compliance with SOPs, quality standards, and NABH requirements.
  • Coordinate with clinical departments on transfers, room/bed needs, and operations.
  • Review daily IP operational reports and KPIs.
  • Address escalated concerns and conduct regular team meetings and training.
  • Identify gaps and implement corrective/preventive actions.
  • Communicate with HODs and management about IP operations.
  • Support audits, quality initiatives, accreditation requirements, and process improvements.

  • Monitor daily IP operational reports, occupancy, admissions, discharges, transfers, and other key performance indicators.
  • Handle escalated patient/attendant concerns and ensure appropriate resolution.
  • Conduct regular team meetings, training, and performance reviews.
  • Identify operational gaps and implement corrective and preventive actions.
  • Maintain effective communication with HODs and hospital management regarding IP operational activities.
  • Support audits, quality initiatives, accreditation requirements, and hospital process improvements.
