Job summary

Pelatro in Bengaluru seeks a Project Manager - CSD to lead end-to-end delivery of telecom projects, coordinating bid handover and TOR to ensure delivery on time, within budget and to quality.

You will drive project risk management, stakeholder communication, and team motivation, delivering against contractual terms and ensuring customer acceptance.

A background in telecom BSS/OSS, lifecycle management, and project control tools is required.

OBJECTIVES of ROLE

• To be the single point of management to ensure delivery of a solution to a customer within time, budget and quality constraints.

Responsibilities & Tasks

• Responsible for full hand-over from bid manager and sales activity - including all relevant project documentation - and initially identifies any risks, assumptions and areas of uncertainty
• Defines the project terms of reference
• Responsible for the commercial delivery of a project according to the terms of reference in a risk averse way.
• Responsible for ensuring delivery meets the criteria set in the Contract or Terms of Business
• Ensures appropriate commercial coverage is in place for all possible cases
• Agrees project resources with Company management, identifies and implements any required training, and ensures a common understanding of team member roles and responsibilities
• Responsible for planning and managing the project in accordance with aspects of the project management process
• Ensures traceability of requirements to deliverables
• Constructs,and is responsible for, maintaining complete and appropriate project records in the Project Log
• Formally identifies analyses, mitigates and monitors project risks.Actions risk reduction opportunities where possible. Maintains RAID (Risks, Assumptions, Issues, and Dependencies) logs, and status reports.
• Responsible for ensuring the project meets company’s financial and timescale targets agreed at project initiation (revenue, cost, profit, margin and delivery dates)
• Responsible for timely invoicing of the Client for services and licences, according to the agreed payment schedule
• Responsible for managing project related purchasing, project costs and expenditure in a cost efficient manner
• Responsible for ensuring the company management is fully informed of project status and issues and made aware at the earliest possible time of concerns and risks that may effect delivery.
• Identifies and tracks status of external project dependencies and takes appropriate early action if the project appears likely to be impacted by factors outside of company’s control
• Responsible for maintaining a good relationship with the project client and maintaining company’s reputation with the client and the wider industry.
• Responsible for the management and leadership of personnel within the project team, responding to motivational issues appropriately to ensure team efficiency.
• Responsible for ensuring that the project and all deliverables have undergone thorough quality control and quality assurance procedures to ensure they are fit for purpose according to the definition of supply.
• Responsible for ensuring safe transition of responsibility from the development project into Company’s support services.
• Investigates opportunities for project extension, or future developments
• Responsible for Support UAT, production deployment, and hypercare activities

Skills

• Experience in managing Telecom BSS/OSS projects.
• Extensive experience of systems development including involvement in all major stages of software development projects.
• Detailed Knowledge and appreciation of systems development lifecycles and methodologies.
• Knowledge and appreciation of Project Management responsibilities, tasks, and methods.
• Conversant in the use of Project Planning and tracking tools.
• Conversant in the methods for financial management of the project.
• Well established communication, presentation, motivational and inter-personal skills associated with person-management abilities.
• A breadth of understanding of the project, its history and relationship to the rest of company, the project plan and financial basis, the current development status, functional and technical description, the project team and issues outstanding.
• Thorough understanding, appreciation and analysis of the issues underlying systems development.
• Awareness of the issues concerning the project within the Client organisation and the identification of risks and further opportunities concerning the client and with associated partners.
