Job summary

GMR Group is seeking a senior project leader to drive preconstruction and construction design management across Delhi Aerocity projects. You will coordinate with consultants, manage timelines, and ensure quality and safety compliance to achieve ZERO INCIDENT targets.

Role requires extensive experience in construction, design coordination, and stakeholder liaison with authorities. You will lead procurement input, contracts administration, and project closeout while ensuring delivery within

Qualifications

Minimum 12 years of relevant experience in Project Execution & Management.
Familiarity with project management tools, methods, processes and techniques.
Knowledge of MS Project / BIM etc.

Responsibilities

Lead design management from concept to detailed design coordinating with consultants and project stakeholders.
Oversee procurement inputs in budgeting, tendering, vendor evaluation and finalization.
Coordinate and ensure civil & building works with zero-incident HSE & QA/QC practices.
Ensure completion within timelines, quality, safety and regulatory compliance.
Handover completed projects with documentation and initial operation support.
Interact with government authorities and external consultants for smooth execution.

Job Purpose

Lead Preconstruction & during construction, Design Management; Value engineering; Appropriate Construction methodology; Monitoring & course correction of Timelines & Budget; Effective implementation of HSE & QA practices for ZERO INCIDENT target; Completion of projects within approved budget & approved timelines; for all Construction projects across Delhi Aerocity with high level of operational efficiency. Effective & disciplined interaction & reporting with Internal & External stakeholders; Govt authorities & Statutory authorities

Key Accountabilities

Accountablity KPI

Design Management

To ensure completion of designs from conceptual stage to detailed designs by coordinating with consultants and Design teams and other stake holders of the Project.

Timelines; Value engineering; Construction methodology.

Procurement Management

Coordinate and assist procurement team with Technical and Commercial inputs in budgeting, tendering, vendor evaluation and vendor finalization.

In time Procurement, finalization of capable contractor / Vendor through P&C. Project Quality compliance

Construction Management

Coordinate and ensure implementation of Civil & Building works with compliance to the Design and requirements of the clientele; with ZERO INCIDENT policy in HSE & QA/QC practices; Deploy appropriate Construction methodology. Effective Contracts Administration; Use the team to optimum potential.

Completion time (within time), Quality compliance, Safety, Health and Environment compliance. Commercial variation compliance. Stakeholder satisfaction

Handing over and Contract Closure

Handover completed project to operation team with required documentation, Hand hold the operation team in initial period to stabilize the operation. Post operation stabilization; assist Procurement and Contracts team to close the all project related contracts with all required backup data.

Acceptance by operation team, stabilization of system for maximum output as per the project specifications, contract closures. Project Closeout.

Compliance

HSE; Quality and regulatory compliances - Assist and work with the management for the effective deployment of the EHS & Q policy and achievement of the Policy objectives and targets /goals. Ensure ISO compliances.

Zero Non Compliances. Audit compliances.

Liaison and Stakeholder Management

Maintain good relations with community , Liaison and maintain good synergy with projects contractors & stakeholders (Internal & External) to provide timely inputs and reports, including risk associated & business impact on critical works. Conflict resolution and crisis management as and when required.

Good relations with the community, project contractors, number of instances of conflict/crisis situations in the projects / avoiding any legal issues.
Coordination with the Airport teams for various interfaces.

Quality improvement

Decide, recommend and approve allocation for the capex projects
Guide, direct, and push for improving project implementations as per master development plan etc.
Maximizing capacity utilization
Number of proposals Vs. approved
Ensure effective project monitoring and execution

External Interactions

Interact with stake holders of the projects to understand their requirements and educate them on particular systems.
Interact with Government statutory agencies like Local Fire Authority, Central Electrical Authority, State Electricity Authority, Pollution control board, Municipal corporations, Factory Inspectorates for certifications
Interact with external consultants, Vendors / contractors for design & smooth execution of the project.

Internal Interactions

Interacts with other departments & Airport teams for efficient coordination of works
Interact with individual team members to understand their strength and weakness and guide them
Interact with Senior Management to apprise them about the progress of works.

Financial Dimensions

CAPEX works of up to Rs. 250 Cr / year

Education Qualifications

BTech/BE (Civil). Construction Management qualification will be an advantage.

Relevant Experience

Job profile requires Minimum of 12 Years of relevant and Total 15 + years of total experience in Project Execution & Management
Familiarity in the use of project management tools, methods, processes and techniques.
Knowledge on MS Project / BIM etc
