Job summary

Eaton in Pune seeks a Supplier Development and Quality Engineer with 4–8 years' experience to drive supplier qualification, resolve technical issues, and improve processes and overall supplier performance.

You will engage with suppliers and internal teams to ensure defect-free supply and timely closures, leveraging Six Sigma, Kaizen, and core tools to deliver continuous improvement across sites.

Qualifications

• BE in Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering.
• 4–8 years in Supplier Development, Quality and Manufacturing/Process Engineering.

Responsibilities

• Follow up, evaluate and approve PPAP from external and internal suppliers.
• Identify, investigate and resolve supplier technical/system issues for closures.
• Analyze supplier issues using statistical tools for supplier improvements.
• Improve CAR/CAPA, process efficiency and lead timely closures.
• Coordinate with global stakeholders for flawless closures.
• Assist in data analysis and growth of supplier quality processes.
• Anticipate customer needs and provide supplier-based solutions.
• Coordinate between suppliers and internal teams to clarify requirements and speed closures.
• Understand customer requirements and respond to adhoc requests quickly.
• Monitor supplier performance across key suppliers.
• Support and lead process transitions with accurate documentation.
• Lead projects and act as SPOC for multiple sites/customers.
• Investigate and resolve supplier technical/system issues with change management.
• Ensure engagement with site Quality, SQE, SDE, SCM and Engineering teams.
• Promote Continuous Improvement culture at supplier sites.

What you’ll do:

To execute flowless supplier qualification and identify the gaps in supplier Quality system - Quality, Delivery and operational alignment with Eaton manufacturing sites, communicate back to supplier & take follow up for improvement actions. Ensure supplier training and actions implemented in respective process for defect free product supply with aiming overall supplier performance improvement

• "1. Follow up, evaluate and work on the approval of PPAP from external and internal suppliers from all Aerospace sites
• 2. Identify, investigate, and Resolve Supplier Technical and/or System issues related to product or process realization to have effective closures.
• 3. Analyzes Supplier Issues, use of statistical and analytical tools for Supplier Improvement.
• 4. Implement measures to improve CAR/CAPA, Process efficiency and engage Team to achieve Goals for on time closures
• 5. Trouble shoot flawless closures in coordination with global stake holders.
• 6.Assist in data analysis and business growth for various supplier Quality process
• 7. Anticipate customer requirements and provide customer centric solutions.
• 8. Work as a co- coordinator between suppliers and internal functions/plants (Engineering, Plants, Operations, etc.) to clarify requirements, eliminate confusion, and improve closure lead time and accuracy.
• 9.Understand customer requirement and quick turnaround time on adhoc requests.
• 10.Monitor and communicate supplier performance of all key suppliers.
• 11. Support and lead process transitions through on time and accurate documentation,
• 12. Lead projects in team and act as SPOC for multiple sites and customers.
• 13. Identify, investigate, and Resolve Supplier Technical and/or System issues related to product or process realization to have effective closures - Change managements and correlation issues
• 14. Ensure strong engagement with all affected site Quality, SQE, SDE, SCM, CM and Engineering team.
• 15. Encourage & implement Continuous Improvement culture within team & at supplier end.

Qualifications:

• BE in (Electrical/Electronics/Mechanical Engineering)
• "1.Minimum 4~8 years of experience in Supplier Development and Quality and Manufacturing / or Process Engineering

Skills:

• 2. Experience in working with global customers & suppliers."
• Knowledge of problem solving tools, CI tools (Six Sigma,Kaizen&A3), APQP, PPAP, Core Tools ,GD&T and AIAG.
  Working knowledge on Supplier change management(Process& Systems), statistical tools including SPC, Gauge R&R and manufacturing processes such as Electrical and Electronic components (PCBAs and transformers is preferred)/Molding/Precision machining/Casting /Forging /Stamping is preferred as per sequence.
  Knowledge on supplier special processes like Heat treatment,Coating and plating will be an added advantage
  Knowledge on digital tools"
