Job summary

Eaton in Puducherry seeks a Supplier Quality Engineer responsible for incoming inspection, supplier defect tracking, SCAR monitoring, and PPAP for new parts.

You will evaluate suppliers, conduct onsite audits, monitor KPIs like DPPM, and drive quality improvement with tools such as PFMEA, Control Plan, and SPC.

The role requires BE or Diploma in Mechanical Engg and 8+ years in supplier quality/development; excellent communication and negotiation skills are essential.

Qualifications

• BE / Diploma in Mechanical Engg is required.
• 8+ years of experience in Supplier Quality & Development activity.
• Hands-on knowledge of quality tools and processes used in supplier quality.

Responsibilities

• Evaluate and select suppliers based on Eaton quality systems; onsite assessment.
• Conduct periodic supplier audits; process, system, product and non-conformance reviews.
• Monitor supplier performance using KPIs (DPPM, SCAR defects).
• Develop improvement plans with underperforming suppliers; focus on root cause.
• Drive Production Feasibility, APQP/PPAP for qualified parts; PSW sign-off.
• Ensure quality is built into products and processes at supplier sites using PFMEA, Control Plan, SPC.
• Know-how of critical part management and special processes such as powder coating, HT, plating.
• Knowledge of measuring equipment and metrology practice.

What You’ll Do

Supplier Quality Engineer is responsible for incoming inspection/ Supplier defect - SCAR Monitoring. also responsible for all New Part & localization , Alternate source Part developement, conduct PPAP for all components. SQ Engineer need to closely interact with Supplier, SCM Sourcing & Buyer for the Development part inspection activity qualification /Completion

• Drive that Quality is built into the product & process at suppliers end through deployment of Quality tools like Control Plan, PFMEA, SPC.
• Should have Knowledge on the Critical part management & Special Process _ powder Coating, HT, Tin & Zinc -Plating,
