Job summary

Varroc is looking for a civil project engineer to lead the execution and oversight of greenfield and brownfield site works, ensuring upgrade and maintenance of plant infrastructure.

You will study requirements, assess feasibility, prepare estimates, manage resources, supervise contractors, and ensure safety and quality standards to deliver on-time completion and formal reports to the Civil Head.

Responsibilities

• Monitoring execution for all civil work (Project and Maintenance)
• Understanding the user requirement for maintenance / or refurbishment works, collecting information, checking feasibility, preparation of Estimate for the user / plant after SOW sign off
• Stage 1 review of drawing and BOQ submitted by consultant/vendor
• Validation of estimate/quote from vendor for plant works
• Resource Management for civil works
• Compile and present task list report to Civil Head for decision and update
• Adherence to Project tracker, generate weekly reports
• Day to day complete supervision and control over the workmanship of different contractors and agencies connected with Civil works
• Coordinate & Support Vendor to execute Civil Works as per the approved drawing and BOQ specification with standard make & time schedule from vendor
• Timely inspection & maintenance of records of all inward material along with plant team as per Varroc Civil Standard make list & finalized BOQ
• Arrange for on-site feasible technical testing along with Plant team as per site requirement
• Implementation and adherence to Quality Testing Checklist for material and procedure
• Prepare snag list and coordinate with vendor to get done any pending work before issuing of completion certificate
• Ensure safety of all the activities executed under civil platform
• Intermediate checking of the safety regulations followed by the vendors
• Raise the debit notes for safety norm violations
• Educate the workers through training working at heights above 8m
• Ensure zero accidents at the site
• Take care of stacking & safekeeping of the material for error - free site activities and movements
• Civil Work waste material disposal management
• Visit the site along with the vendor suggested by plant, provide technical solution to the plant
• Validate the cost given by the vendor
• Check the measurements and validate the bills
• Shall intimate and sign off the Recurring maintenance activities to be completed by Plant annually.
• Compilation of report and submit to region lead.
• Validate the bill as per BOQ & PO and actual site execution with proper measurement sheet & quality check.
• Ensure all supporting documents like JMR, standard make materials, DC with proper gate entry for billing process.
• Follow up with Finance team for vendor payment as per PO terms.

Accountability 2 - Project Execution Responsible to manage project tracker, supervise the agencies connected with civil work, support the vendor for adherence to approved drawing, BOQ specifications and schedule, Quality Testing Checklist for material and procedure & Varroc civil standards; on-site technical training; complete the pending tasks
