Roles and Responsibility/ Duties to be performed:-
A. Civil Project Planning & Execution -
- Plan, coordinate and execute civil construction projects related to thermal power plants, buildings, infrastructure and plant facilities.
- Prepare project execution plans, WBS, schedules, activity plans and construction methodologies.
- Monitor project progress against approved schedules, milestones, budgets and quality requirements.
- Ensure timely execution of foundations, RCC structures, structural steel, buildings, roads, drainage, paving and other civil works.
- Monitor manpower, materials, machinery and other resources and take corrective action for delays and constraints.
B. Engineering, Construction & Technical Management -
- Review and interpret civil, structural and architectural drawings, GFC/shop drawings, specifications and technical documents.
- Coordinate with consultants/design teams for resolution of design discrepancies and technical issues.
- Supervise construction activities and ensure execution as per approved drawings, specifications, method statements and relevant IS/BIS standards.
- Provide technical guidance on construction methodology, materials and sequencing of critical activities.
- Monitor waterproofing, finishing, MEP coordination and other building works and ensure necessary inspections and testing.
C. Quantity Estimation, BOQ & Cost Control -
- Prepare and review BOQs, quantity estimates, rate analysis and cost estimates for civil works.
- Assess material, manpower and machinery requirements and assist in project budgeting.
- Monitor project expenditure and identify opportunities for cost optimization.
Verify contractor measurements, bills, quantities, variations and extra items and provide technical/commercial recommendations.
D. Contractor & Consultant Management -
- Coordinate with civil contractors, consultants, vendors and subcontractors for project execution.
- Review contractor work programs, resource deployment and overall performance.
- Conduct site meetings and progress reviews and ensure timely mobilization of resources.
- Monitor contractor performance with respect to progress, quality, safety and contractual requirements.
Review contractor claims, measurements, variations and completion documentation.
E. Quality Assurance & Quality Control -
- Ensure implementation of approved QA/QC procedures, inspection plans and testing requirements.
- Monitor quality of concrete, reinforcement, structural steel, earthwork, roads, waterproofing and finishing works.
- Ensure compliance with IS/BIS codes, project specifications and approved quality standards.
- Maintain inspection records, test reports, NCRs and corrective-action documentation.
F. Project Documentation & Reporting -
- Maintain project records including drawings, BOQs, schedules, inspection reports, measurements, test reports and contractor documents.
- Highlight project risks, delays and technical issues and recommend corrective measures.
- Prepare management presentations and project review reports.
G. Civil Maintenance & Infrastructure Management -
- Coordinate civil maintenance of plant buildings, roads, drainage, structures and other infrastructure.
- Plan and monitor preventive, corrective, repair, rehabilitation and renovation works.
- Conduct site inspections to identify structural defects, leakage, settlement, pavement distress and other civil issues.
- Ensure timely execution of emergency and breakdown-related civil works.
H. MEP & Multidisciplinary Coordination -
- Coordinate civil works with Mechanical, Electrical, C&I, MEP, Administration and other departments.
- Coordinate civil interfaces for equipment foundations, trenches, cable routes, pipe supports, openings and embedded items.
- Resolve interdisciplinary issues to minimize rework and project delays.
I. Safety, Environment & Statutory Compliance -
- Ensure civil construction and maintenance activities comply with HSE requirements, statutory regulations and environmental guidelines.
- Monitor safety compliance cf contractors and ensure safe construction practices, work permits and site arrangements.
- Participate in safety inspections, audits and implementation of corrective actions.
J. Team Leadership & Coordination -
- Supervise and guide civil engineers, supervisors, contractors and site teams.
- Allocate responsibilities, monitor team performance and mentor junior.
Functional Competencies:-

Civil Maintenance & Infrastructure: Knowledge of building repair,

- Maitenance Planning & Execution: Ability to plan and schedule
maintenance activities, conduct site inspections, assess defects, prioritize works and ensure timely completion.
- Safety & Statutory Compliance: Sound understanding of HSE
requirements, building codes, environmental norms and safe work
practices applicable to civil maintenance activities.
- Cost Management & Optimization: Experience in budgeting,estimation and expenditure control, with the ability to identify practical and cost- effective maintenance solutions.
- Team & Stakeholder Management: Ability to lead maintenance teams and coordinate with contractors and Mechanical, Electrical, Administration and other departments for effective execution of maintenance activities.
