Job summary

Saint Gobain in Silvassa, India, seeks a Diploma-qualified Electrical & Instrumentation technician to provide shift-wise maintenance for a new automatic line, ensuring safe, reliable production and minimal downtime.

You will execute preventive and breakdown maintenance, calibrate field instruments, support PLC/SCADA/HMI/VFD systems, and participate in continuous improvement while maintaining logs.

Qualifications

• Diploma in Automation required
• Hands-on experience with PLC/SCADA/HMI/VFDs and industrial automation
• Knowledge of calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments
• Understanding of preventive and predictive maintenance techniques
• Knowledge of TQM and WCM principles
• Strong troubleshooting and communication skills
• Ability to work effectively in a shift environment

Responsibilities

• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance on electrical and instrumentation systems.
• Calibrate, check, test, and verify field instruments to maintain accuracy and reliability.
• Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and restoration of field instruments and control devices.
• Identify issues in instrumentation, electrical, and control systems and implement corrective actions.
• Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, and instrumentation systems to maintain process operations.
• Monitor equipment health and report abnormalities to prevent failures.
• Maintain safety standards, procedures, and logs; ensure regulatory compliance.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to meet targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement, root cause analysis, and reliability programs

Job description

There are 3- shift with 6 days working at plant in Silvassa.

Purpose:
Provide shift wise Electrical & Instrumentation support for the new automatic line to ensure safe, reliable, and uninterrupted production operations.

Key Responsibilities:

• Execute preventive, predictive, and breakdown maintenance activities on electrical and instrumentation systems to support reliable plant operations.
• Perform calibration, checking, testing, and verification of field instruments to maintain measurement accuracy and equipment reliability.
• Support installation, commissioning, troubleshooting, and restoration of field instruments, sensors, transmitters, control valves, and related control devices.
• Identify instrumentation, electrical, and control system issues and implement corrective actions to restore process performance with minimum downtime.
• Support PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFD, and instrumentation systems to maintain stable and efficient process operation during shift activities.
• Monitor equipment health and report abnormalities to prevent unexpected failures.
• Ensure compliance with safety standards, maintenance procedures, and plant operating requirements.
• Maintain maintenance records, calibration reports, and shift activity logs.
• Coordinate with production and maintenance teams to achieve production and reliability targets.
• Participate in continuous improvement initiatives, root cause analysis, and reliability improvement programs.

Knowledge & Skills Required:

• Good knowledge of Electrical & Instrumentation maintenance practices.
• Hands-on experience with PLC, SCADA, HMI, VFDs, and industrial automation systems.
• Knowledge of calibration and troubleshooting of field instruments.
