Job summary

AVP - UK Life & Annuities operations in Kolkata is a senior leadership role to lead end-to-end UK life and annuities delivery for a ~300-person team. You will drive service quality, client and stakeholder management, and regulatory compliance while shaping the operating model and performance culture.

You will partner with global insurance and financial services clients to deliver transformation, automation, and process improvements, ensuring financial targets are met and risk is managed.

The role will be responsible for end-to-end service delivery, operational excellence, client and stakeholder management, regulatory compliance, financial performance, and people leadership for a team of approximately 300 professionals.

Responsibilities

1. Lead and manage end-to-end UK Life & Annuities operations, ensuring high-quality service delivery, customer experience, and achievement of business objectives.
2. Develop and execute strategic and operational plans in collaboration with senior leadership and clients, identifying opportunities for revenue growth, process improvement, automation, and operational efficiency.
3. Drive delivery governance by monitoring SLAs, KPIs, quality, productivity, customer experience, and financial performance while proactively managing operational risks and escalations.
4. Ensure compliance with contractual commitments, regulatory requirements, internal governance frameworks, audit requirements, and client-specific standards.
5. Lead a team of approximately 300 professionals and drive workforce planning, resource optimization, talent development, succession planning, employee engagement, and retention.

Requirements

1. 18+ years of experience in Insurance Operations, with substantial experience in leadership and managing large-scale delivery teams.
2. Strong and mandatory experience in UK Life & Annuities, UK Life & Pensions, Retirement, or Superannuation operations.
3. Mandatory expertise in Life & Pensions Policy Acquisition and Policy Servicing.
4. Experience in managing senior client stakeholders, delivery governance, SLAs, KPIs, escalations, and operational performance.
5. Strong experience in large-team management, process transformation, financial management, resource optimization, and operational excellence.
