Job summary

Welspun World is seeking a proactive Assistant Manager Warehouse Operations to oversee inbound, inventory, billing, and claims in the Bhiwandi warehouse. You will ensure timely GRN, accuracy in stock, and compliant processes.

This role reports to Warehouse Operations & Logistics Lead and requires a Bachelor's degree in logistics or related field (MBA preferred). Experience in FMCG/3PL beneficial.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred.
• 58 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, billing, and claims handling.

Responsibilities

• Inbound Operations Management: manage end-to-end inbound activities including receiving, unloading, inspection and put-away.
• Inventory Management: maintain inventory accuracy through cycle counts and stock audits.
• Billing & Documentation: verify invoices and ensure timely billing and records.
• Claims Management & Settlement: handle shortages, damages, and claims with root-cause analysis.
• Team & Process Management: lead warehouse staff and implement continuous improvement.

Position: Assistant Manager Warehouse Operations

Reporting To: Warehouse Operations & Logistics Lead

Job Summary- We are seeking a proactive and detail-oriented Assistant Manager Warehouse Operations to oversee warehouse inbound operations, inventory management, billing processes, and claims settlement activities. The role is responsible for ensuring efficient receipt of goods, inventory accuracy, timely billing, and effective resolution of vendor/customer claims while driving operational excellence and compliance

Key Responsibilities

1. Inbound Operations Management

• Manage end-to-end inbound warehouse activities including receiving, unloading, inspection, and put-away.
• Ensure timely GRN (Goods Receipt Note) processing and system updates.
• Coordinate with suppliers and internal stakeholders for smooth receipt of materials.
• Monitor inbound productivity and adherence to SOPs.
• Ensure compliance with safety, quality, and warehouse standards.

2. Inventory Management

• Maintain inventory accuracy through regular cycle counts and stock audits.
• Monitor stock movement, aging inventory, and slow/non-moving items.
• Investigate and resolve inventory discrepancies.
• Ensure proper storage practices and inventory controls.
• Generate and analyze inventory reports for management review.

3. Billing & Documentation

• Verify warehouse, transportation, and vendor invoices.
• Ensure timely processing of customer and vendor billing.
• Maintain accurate records of warehouse transactions and supporting documents.
• Coordinate with finance teams for invoice reconciliation and payment processing.
• Monitor billing KPIs and identify areas for process improvement.

4. Claims Management & Settlement

• Handle shortage, damage, loss, and service-related claims.
• Conduct root cause analysis and coordinate with stakeholders for claim resolution.
• Maintain claim documentation and tracking records.
• Ensure timely submission and closure of claims with vendors, transporters, and insurance agencies.
• Drive reduction in claim occurrences through corrective actions.

5. Team & Process Management

• Lead and guide warehouse staff to achieve operational targets.
• Monitor team productivity and provide coaching where required.
• Implement continuous improvement initiatives for warehouse efficiency.
• Ensure adherence to company policies, SOPs, and regulatory requirements.

Required Qualifications

• Bachelor's Degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, Commerce, Business Administration, or a related field.
• MBA/PGDM in Supply Chain or Operations Management preferred.

Experience

• 58 years of experience in warehouse operations, inventory management, billing, and claims handling.
• Experience in FMCG, Retail, E-commerce, Manufacturing, or 3PL environments preferred.
