Job summary

Shavish Group is seeking an experienced Valve Design Engineer to lead industrial valve design and development. The role covers ball, butterfly, gate, globe, check and plug valves, with responsibility for 2D/3D drawings, BOMs and engineering specs.

You will perform calculations, material selection and component sizing, while supporting NPD and manufacturing optimization. The ideal candidate will have 7+ years in valve design, strong knowledge of relevant standards (API/ASME/ISO) and hands-on CAD

Qualifications

• 7+ years of experience in Valve Design.
• Strong knowledge of industrial valve design and engineering.
• Experience with Ball / Butterfly / Gate / Globe / Check / Plug valves.
• Good knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI and ISO standards.
• Experience in 2D & 3D CAD software.
• Knowledge of GD&T, tolerance, material selection and design calculations.
• Experience in NPD and design optimization.
• Exposure to manufacturing and production processes.
• Good problem-solving and technical coordination skills.

Responsibilities

Job description

Valve Design & Engineering

• Design and develop industrial valves as per customer and industry requirements.


• Handle design of Ball, Butterfly, Gate, Globe, Check and Plug valves.


• Prepare and review 2D drawings, 3D models, BOMs and engineering specifications.


• Perform design calculations, sizing, material selection and component selection.

New Product Development

• Support NPD and product improvement activities.


• Develop new valve designs based on customer requirements and market needs.


• Conduct design reviews, validation and prototype development.


• Identify opportunities for cost reduction and design optimization.

Engineering Standards & Codes

• Ensure designs comply with applicable standards such as:




• API


• ASME


• ANSI


• ISO


• BS




• Knowledge of valve-specific standards such as API 6D, API 609, API 600, API 594, API 608 would be preferred.

Manufacturing & Production Support

• Work closely with Manufacturing, Production, Quality and Purchase teams.


• Resolve design-related manufacturing issues.


• Support DFM/DFA and improve manufacturability.


• Provide technical support for production and assembly-related issues.

Customer & Technical Support

• Understand customer specifications and technical requirements.


• Review customer drawings and technical documents.


• Support technical discussions with customers and internal teams.


• Prepare technical documentation and design proposals.

Quality & Testing

• Coordinate with Quality for design validation and testing.


• Support pressure, functional and performance testing of valves.


• Analyze design-related quality issues and implement corrective actions.

Team & Project Management

• Lead and guide junior design engineers.


• Allocate design activities and monitor project timelines.


• Coordinate with cross-functional teams to ensure timely completion of projects.


• Maintain proper engineering documentation and revision control.

Required Skills

• 7+ years of experience in Valve Design


• Strong knowledge of industrial valve design and engineering


• Experience with Ball / Butterfly / Gate / Globe / Check / Plug valves


• Good knowledge of API, ASME, ANSI and ISO standards
