Job summary

Shavish Group in Pune, India seeks an experienced mechanical design engineer to support design and product development across valve and damper applications. You will work with technical leads to develop concepts and final designs for new product development (NPD).

You will prepare design documentation, collaborate with manufacturing and suppliers for DFMs, and create technical files for certifications. Proficiency in CAD tools and strong English communication are essential.

Qualifications

• Bachelor's degree in mechanical engineering and 2+ years in valve/damper design.
• Experience with butterfly valves, ball valves, and fabricated dampers.
• Knowledge of design standards and manufacturing processes.
• Proficient in 3D CAD and documentation practices.

Responsibilities

• Support concept design and final design for NPD.
• Prepare design documentation for gate reviews.
• Coordinate with manufacturing teams and suppliers for DFMs.
• Prepare technical files for product certifications for valve industry.
• Create/review 3D models, 2D drawings and engineering BOMs.
• Support sales/marketing literature and technical docs (IOMs, Brochures, TDS).
• Assist sales for new enquiries and costing with concept-to-final product designs.
• Ensure timely completion of NPD and VA/VE activities.
• Produce high-quality 3D models, drawings and BOMs.
• Coordinate effectively with manufacturing and suppliers.
• Complete accurate certification files and documentation.
• Provide strong technical support for customer requirements.
• Drive continuous improvement in design and manufacturability.

Job description

You will support the technical leads in executing design and product development activities across industrial valve and damper applications.

• Work with the team and technical leads to build concept designs and develop final designs for NPD
• Prepare design documentation for gate reviews.
• Work closely with manufacturing teams and suppliers to conduct DFMs.
• Prepare technical files for product certifications applicable to the valve industry.
• Create / review 3D part & assembly models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and engineering BOMs.
• Support sales & marketing literature and technical documentation such as IOMs, Brochures, TDS etc.
• Support the sales & marketing team for new enquiries and costing. Accurate and practical concept-to-final product designs.
• Timely completion of NPD and VA/VE design activities.
• High-quality 3D models, 2D manufacturing drawings, and engineering BOMs.
• Effective coordination with manufacturing teams and suppliers.
• Complete and accurate technical documentation and certification files.
• Strong technical support for new enquiries, costing, and customer requirements.
• Continuous improvement in design, manufacturability, and product performance.

EDUCATION & EXPERIENCE

• Bachelors degree in mechanical engineering.
• Minimum 2 years of relevant experience.
• Experience in Valve and Damper design, preferably in Butterfly Valves, Ball Valves, and Fabricated Dampers.
• Knowledge of design standards.
• Good understanding of manufacturing processes and materials used in the valve industry
• Strong mechanical engineering design fundamentals, static mechanics, valve domain knowledge, and fabrication experience.
• Hands-on experience with AutoCAD, SolidWorks / Solid Edge / Creo, ERP, etc.
• Fluent in English written and verbal with effective communication across local, global, and cross-functional teams.
