We are looking for an experienced Quality Manager with strong hands-on experience in the Oil & Gas / Industrial Valve Manufacturing industry, particularly in the manufacturing and quality assurance of API 6D Ball, Plug and Butterfly Valves.
The ideal candidate should have in-depth practical knowledge of API 6D requirements, valve manufacturing processes, inspection, testing, quality systems and customer requirements, with proven experience in leading and representing the Quality function during API audits and customer/third-party audits.
This position will be responsible for establishing, maintaining and continuously improving the company's Quality Management System while ensuring that products and manufacturing processes comply with applicable API, ASME, ISO, customer and statutory requirements.
Key Responsibilities
- Lead the overall Quality Assurance and Quality Control function for valve manufacturing.
- Develop, implement and maintain quality objectives, procedures, inspection plans and quality improvement initiatives.
- Ensure effective implementation of the company's Quality Management System (QMS).
- Monitor quality performance through KPIs such as:
- Internal and customer rejection
- NCR rate
- Rework and scrap
- First-pass yield
- On-time inspection
- Customer complaints
- CAPA effectiveness
- Maintain strong working knowledge of API Specification 6D Pipeline and Piping Valves and its applicable requirements.
- Ensure manufacturing, inspection and testing activities comply with applicable API 6D requirements.
- Act as the primary Quality representative during API audits, particularly API 6D audits.
- Interface directly with API auditors, third-party inspection agencies and customers.
- Manage audit findings, identify root causes and ensure timely implementation of corrective actions.
- Ensure effective closure and sustainability of API audit non-conformities.
- Establish and review Inspection & Test Plans (ITPs).
- Lead investigation of internal and customer Non-Conformance Reports (NCRs).
- Conduct effective Root Cause Analysis (RCA) using appropriate methodologies such as 5-Why, Fishbone, etc.
- Establish and monitor Corrective and Preventive Actions (CAPA).
- Ensure recurrence prevention and verify effectiveness of corrective actions.
- Analyze recurring defects and implement systemic improvements.
- Establish supplier quality requirements for critical valve components and materials.
- Participate in supplier qualification and evaluation.
- Monitor supplier performance and quality issues.
- Conduct or coordinate supplier audits where required.
- Ensure incoming material and component quality meets specified requirements.

Knowledge of API 598, API 607, API 6FA, ISO 5208 and other applicable valve standards will be an advantage.
Qualification
- Bachelor's degree/Diploma in Mechanical Engineering, Production Engineering, Metallurgy or related discipline.
- 10+ years of relevant experience preferred, with substantial experience in valve manufacturing quality.
- Strong preference for candidates with direct experience in API 6D valve manufacturing.
- Experience with Ball, Plug and Butterfly valves is highly desirable.
- Candidates from valve manufacturers serving the Oil & Gas / Pipeline / Petrochemical industry are preferred.
